| Taking Yorkie Pup Outdoors? Hi all! I am new to this site, and could use some advice. I will be picking up my yorkie puppy on October 10 and currently live in an apartment by many other dogs. I currently have a male yorkie that's three years old. Is it safe to allow my new puppy to go potty outside where other dogs have been or should I make her potty indoors until all vaccines are complete? She will be ten weeks old when I bring her home. Ideally I would like to take her and my boy for a walk every morning so that would also mean being outdoors where other dogs have been. My main concern is possibly exposing her to things like parvo or parasites, since not all owners take care and vaccinate their dogs. Suggestions? I am willing to keep her using potty pads until fully vaccinated if needed, but my husband and I are both gone during the day and I would like to walk her in the morning so she's tired. Thanks! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT!! Once mine had 3 sets of shots, I would be okay w/ letting them go outside on my property. I wouldn't really take them to public places outdoors bc of the chance of other dogs. As far as walks...it's possible, but I'd be very, very careful and I'm not sure it's the safest thing to do until she has more shots on board.

| Thanks for the help! I definitely think better safe than sorry... She will stay in until third vaccine is done. |
