| Yoda was sooooooooo tiny when we first brought him home. We took him to a friend's house and let him roam around, but mainly we just held him and petted him, as he was a bit timid and I'm sure he was scared of the new surroundings and environment. I'd say just take it easy the first few days, and let your new baby adjust to the surroundings. And make sure everything you need is at your home, like food, water bowl, some toys, etc. |

| I got Bailey a week ago today. I drove three hours each way to pick him up. By the time we got home, he was tuckered out and just wanted to sleep. I set up his room (our office is his room, that's where he sleeps, plays, eats, ect) and he climbed into his crate and went to sleep. The first three nights were rough. He cried & cried & cried. I put a tshirt in there that smelled like me, and it seems to have helped him sleep during the night. Because he doesn't cry anymore when he's in there. He currently only weighs 1 lb 7oz. and is just soo tiny. |

| The biggest thing I remember is Lil Bit walking all over the place....pooping like a goose!!!!!! I got Lil Bit over 5 weeks ago and had worked and worked to have her little pen and pads and water and food stuff...and all....I had a t-shirt ready in her bed and bought some tiny little toys. We drove 2 hours home with her and she slept the whole way in my hubbies arms.......we walked around outside for a minute or two....but it was sooo cold and windy we gave up on any pee or poop. Got inside and set her down and she had the runniest / stinky poop.....and she pooped runny stuff every other step!!!!!! I had everything ready..except I could not go get the tissue and wipers fast enough....get one little pile cleaned up and she had done 2 more.....then if I ever got cought up with poop piles I had to find her and wipe her little butt because she was having the dreaded 'runny clingers'! My biggest worry was stepping on her....she was sooooo tiny and was under our feet all the time. I looked and looked for a collar that I could put a bell on but never found one small enough. I read one great suggestion (on yorkietalk!!!!) to get a ferret collar....got one at PetSmart and it did the trick!!!! Hope you all have a great "first day"!!!!!!!! |

| Tia's first day at home was wonderful. She was like the puppy from heaven. I think the funniest thing was when we placed her on the wee-wee pad and she'd look up at us with the head-tilt, then sit down on the pad...like "and you expect me to do WHAT?" She started bonding with me right away and would cry when I left the room (which was not often, just to take care of my own business ). When she met Sandy, she was all wags and bounces. She seemed VERY excited to know that she wouldn't be the only dog at this house! When she met my children, she was very calm, until they sat on the floor. Then again, all wags and bounces...like, "Oh wow, MORE small doggies for me to play with" The kids kept asking me if she was our friends' Yorkie's baby. She didn't eat much that first day, but scarfed down wet food the next. She was an absolute doll! Make sure you let us know how YOUR first day is!

| Bo's first day home was very cool. We surprised our kids with a Christmas puppy! I told them we had an early Christmas present (not unheard of in my house cause my kids are spoiled rotten). I had them come into the living room and sit on the couch and close their eyes. I placed a gift bag in my daughter's lap and had them open their eyes and look inside. Tiny little Bo was in there just quiet as a mouse. They thought he was a stuffed animal! Then he moved and my daughter kept saying "oh my gosh, oh my gosh"and my son said "it's a puppy, it's a puppy!" Bo took right up with everyone. Wasn't scared a bit. Played hard and napped often. We've been in love ever since!!

| I was so over cautious the day Schatzie was brought home, tried to keep her surroundings stress free and peaceful. Heck, all Schatzie wanted was to jump all over our Schnauzer and play with her....and eat. To this day, months and months later nothing has changed, LOL! She still jumps all over our Schnauzer and wants to eat constantly. Wish you happy happy days with your new furbaby!

| I too way cautious trying to keep our house quiet and stress free. Chachi was so tiny and cute. My daughter ran in one of her flouncy little nightgowns she wears. Chachi took off after her running staggering sideways in his awkward efforts to get that nightgown. Too cute!!!!!

| I brought Memphis back late in the evening about 8pm. She poo and pee in the carrier when I was waiting for a cab. So I had to clean it up before entering the cab. After about 5 mins into the ride, i felt a contracting movement in her tummy. Before I could react, she puke all over my tee. Yeah..not very good experience for the first time She wasn't all so lively when she got back to my home but luckily it didn't take her too long to be inquisitive about her new home. Hope you'll have a fun one!! |

| I got Frankie in late February. We chose him out of two puppies because he had such a cute face. He let us take him home and was very quiet and curled up with me on the ride home. When he got home, he didn't pee or eat much. Mainly, he just wanted to cuddle and be near us. Now, he's so energetic, eats a ton, and loves to nip our fingers and ankles! He's in his "terrible two's" phase! |

| I got Meeko in late August 04. All he did was to be on my lap, my neck, and stomach. It was a very easy transition, because he had 100% attention from us!!! We began to spoil him from the very beginning. He has been sleeping with us since then!!!

| Sami Yin & Tilly Sami Yins first day home (4 weeks ago) was so exciting since I hadn't had a new baby in ten years! (Tilly) my first baby wasn't as excited as I was and she still isn't! But his first day home (My first little boy ever ) just makes me laugh and feel so happy inside.. Tilly has cushings and I had second thoughts about bringing another baby home thinking to myself, I was setting myself up with a replacement, so I wouldn't think of it!! I truly love my tilly!! but the more I thought about it I knew a new baby will help me (therapy) cope with the loss when that time did come for tilly to leave me, which at the present typing this just brought tears of the very thought! But I have caught Tilly & sami having a tender moment (tilly licking sami when he was asleep) And It was just so sweet of her to accept him in her own way & time. To her he's just a little nuisance but they both are very comical.. And I truly belive she (tilly)has accepted him as her new little brother.. And I am so Happy to have & love them both. | The day we brought Toto home was one of the most exciting days of our lives!! When we began our 45 min. drive home with her, all she wanted was to snuggle on my lap [no crying]. Patrick could barely keep his eyes on the road ... she was soooo tiny at 1 1/2 lb. and the most amazing little thing we had ever seen! Suddenly I felt a very warm sensation in my lap ... we quickly stopped, jumped out and put a wee wee pad on the ground ... she naturally didn't go any more! We took her home ... and stared at her almost 24/7 and that's what we have done since October, 2003!!! She is an absolute joy!!!!
