YT 500 Club Member | Tried everything, now what? My little Sophie has had a terrible time with scratching. We checked for ear mites, no. Then ear infection, no. Then blood work for allergies, check. She is allergic to oats, turkey, venison, oak, and cedar. I've put her on gluten free food and treats that don't contain turkey or venison. She is still scratching. I don't know what to do. Could it be from being cold? I've been keeping shirts on her so she doesn't hurt herself.

| Being cold would not cause scratching. Is she itchy all over, or just her head?

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Right now I wouldn't worry about brand. If this helps, we can look for a specific brand. |

| If she's allergic to oats, oatmeal shampoo could cause a reaction. Do you see any white flaking around the very edges of her ears? If yes, it 's sarcoptic mites. Does any family member itch esp after holding her? Revolution HW product helps to eliminate them.

| She is also allergic to cedar and oak. Does she lick her paws and rub her face after going outside. My schnauzer does this with her allergies. The vet told me to be sure and wash her feet and face when she comes in from outside, He also said I could give her Benadryl for the itching. She has had a couple of steroid shots in the past when the allergies have been really bad but I don't like her having those. Too many side effects. She is now on Apoquel which seems to work really well but it is very hard to get (short supply). Hope you can find something that works for your little one. |

Concentrated shoulder scratching is related to some illnesses.
