This thread was addressed about a week after the posts I had read. Whether it was done because it was reported...I don't know. The reason why I said that the person has not returned was because nobody answered their needed question (at least not on the forum...they may have pm them) and the fact that there are no updates or any other posts from that person. I'm just assuming and you know what happens when you assume

I don't know what thread you are referring to but maybe no one had the answer?

I really was not answering your post by the way. It was more for Matese but anyone could benefit from it. It does no good to complain after the fact...best to simply report it immediately.

Yeah, I try not to assume...but I do it as well and yes I am one at times.

I am a strong person, bull headed and quit frankly I don't take no bullsh** from anyone but I must admit that I have been brought to tears on several occasions throughout the years by rude, insensitive and down right just mean people here on YT. As a somewhat seasoned YTer and by that I mean I have been there done that, been spoken to in the most rude manner, been called horrible names but am still here. I managed to get through it with my dignity and self respect in tack. That being said . . YT is a community of so many different types that when I came here and made it through the gauntless sort of speak I find that you really do need to be respectful of everyone here regardless of how they state their views, what they may think of you and the way they go a bout stating their opinions. Sometimes people can be rather harsh and down right mean but even me being the type of hard ass that I am in my every day life I handle things differently here. If you don't ... you will loose it... Sometime I just want to rip someone a new one but of course I don't. Not to say that I am being fake because I'm not . . I would say that I am being Respectful and I expect that same level of respect in return.

I just hope that after this umpteenth friendly reminder from our good friend and monitor Ann that everyone here new & old alike can start fresh and take to heart what Ann and this conversation has been about . Truthfully, I don't have much faith that this will make much of a difference. I think that this is just another thread that will be lost in the shuffle and wont make a dent in the way people post here. But I do hope that I am wrong.

Plain and simple "Treat others as you wish to be Treaded". If you cant say anything nice than don't say anything at all and in my own opinion if you don't have cold hard facts you need to keep your opinions of other members to yourself.

Honestly, if I do something to harm an animal, I hope someone confronts me. There are many people who come here and do just that and expect people to love them. Not happening with me. I speak the truth and have no remorse whatsoever for anything I have said to anyone who wronged an animal.

This really is a great place to be a member of. There are caring, compassionate people who I am so glad I now know.
Nice to see positive.

I for one am getting sick of the constant complaints. How about everyone start out being part of a solution instead of part of the problem? It takes two to tango.

people also need to realize if it follows the rules and it's just an opinion they don't like they need to move on.

Saw this today and thought it might be applicable and perhaps might add to the quality of our community:

I love it, how interesting! I can complain about SO many things...traffic, customer service, being treated poorly by someone, what have you...and I think it'd be really healthy to just not complain for 21 days. I may have to try this, I wonder if I could even do it, lol!

I agree 100%. If we all read and follow the YT guidelines and heed our most esteemed Moderator, Ann's reminder to "Everyone Please Read: Going Forward, We Must Post With More Respect Toward Others" we would all be part of the solution rather than the problem. And adding my two bits....

What really bugs me is when a thread is taken off subject and becomes a private battleground for members with opposing ideas/views. And the battle goes on and on and on.... Continually repeating the same ole same ole in the SAME thread will not win the battle, it only serves to anger and cause discord among members.

Firstly, I just want to say what a wonderful community YT is, and that I hope this thread can help us all think about improving our presence here during interactions…even if it just means tweaking our posting styles a bit.

I’ll get right to the point: we’ve been receiving a huge amount of communications from members who are concerned/venting about some of the harshness and aggression they’re seeing/perceiving in the community. This harshness pertains to both new and old members - on both the receiving and giving end of things. We’re hearing there is a pervasive feeling that members are being driven away via disrespectful, snarky, disdainful, extremely aggressive, and downright mean posting styles. This needs to stop.

We cannot be a community or call ourselves a community if we don’t come together sometimes, as a collective, and agree to do better. Well, it’s time to come together and agree to do better...to be more aware of giving (yes, GIVING) respect, to be more kind, to be more compassionate and supportive.

No one is asking anyone to be a Pollyanna or to not be themselves. We’re merely asking that, in your interactions, you strive harder and TRULY commit to what is mentioned in the previous paragraph. It’s not that hard -- and if it IS hard for you, then perhaps this isn’t the right board for you and perhaps it’s time to move on from YT to find an environment that does fit.

We are not asking much. If you do think we’re asking too much, then 1) this is not the community for you 2) you’re being self-centered and 3) you need to develop your insight into human beings, other than yourself. WE ARE NOT ASKING MUCH.

It is okay to speak your mind here at YT. However, it is not okay to simply justify any means you deem fit to meet your end goal. We believe in being STRONG advocates for dogs/animals - but not, however, at the expense of the human being behind that dependent and innocent dog. Please do not assume or think that it’s okay to behave any way you please merely because it’s in the interest of an animal. We all need to be decent here and post w/ a modicum of respect…EVEN when and especially when dealing with someone who is doing everything we are personally opposed to. Your opposition to another human being’s behavior does *not* mean you are right, nor is it a fact that they are universally and categorically wrong….it merely means you have opposition. Please learn to deal with it because it’s not going away.

If we see excessively negative and/or badgering posting styles, we will be warning people or suspending people and/or permanently banning members’ accounts.

This is an open discussion in terms of feedback, thoughts, concerns….so please feel free to share. This post is not aimed at anyone, so please do not make assumptions. It was driven by the sheer amount of concerned members who expressed themselves via PMs and on the forum itself. Thank you for reading!
Hmmmmm.....This thread was started because of negative, demeaning and aggressive posting styles and it is so evident when you read through the threads. I understand that their are strong minded people because if you ask my husband he will tell you I am the biggest strong minded person he has met. Most of the times it's a good thing but at other times it's not. Lol. People do stupid stuff everyday whether it's to themselves, another person or animal or in life general and demeaning them or being aggressive towards them is not going to change them. Don't get me wrong...I am the biggest advocate for animals and there are tons of posts that I have cried when I read them. To the point where I can't read them anymore. I believe the only thing we could hope is when they come to YT looking for help we can guide them and encourage them to read the threads and maybe, just maybe they will learn from their mistakes. Since I have gotten older, throughout the years I have had to learn to bite my tongue when others have said or done something stupid. I realized that not everybody has common sense, smarts, education, ethics, etc. I go at it in a different approach now. The other point I like to make is that expressing our opinions in writing whether it's on a forum, letter or e-mail is tricky enough because it can be emotionally charged. Sometimes we need to just step back, re-read and adjust our phrases, tone or words. That's just proper writing etiquette. You know how in an e-mail people get offended that others write in caps because they feel that you are yelling at them which may or may not be the case. Just remember that your tone cannot be heard in writing like it could be in person.

Just MHO....Have a great day!

We all have our beliefs.

I know exactly why the thread was started.

I also know that it takes two to tango.

I think if everyone would stop complaining it would be much nicer. That goes for BOTH sides in this as I believe the thread also was meant for.

Exactly, and my first read of your post is that you are being condescending to others and acting like only you know how to write properly as you call it.

What a shame....I post something that could be a positive thing and it turns to more complaining and accusing of others. The problem imo is all of the finger pointing and I am pointing mine as such:
