Senior Yorkie Talker | 8 Week Old Yorkie Experiencing Motion Sickness I just got my yorkie yesterday morning. I had her shipped to me by grounds transportation, since its safer. They told me she had a tough time in the truck, but they didn't tell me she had motion sickness. I took her for a little walk this morning in her pet carrier, and she threw up more than five times. She threw up all her food, and her saliva looked like it was foaming around her mouth. OMG! I took her home and gave her a good bath, because it was all in her coat. Does anyone know if I carry her in a pet sling if that will help, since she's not confined inside and can see where's she going? I'm not going to let her get on the ground or anything, especially since she hasn't had all of her shots. I just don't want to leave her in the house while I'm taking my older yorkie outside. If the pet sling doesn't work she will have to stay indoors until she's gotten all her shots. |

| How far did she travel by truck? Does she appear to be okay now? She could just be overwhelmed by everything since she is only 8 weeks old. I would get her into the vet asap for a puppy wellness exam. Give her a few days to adjust. Make everything as calm and reassuring as possible. I would leave inside too. It's very hot and humid here in the mid-Atlantic states.

| Well at 8 weeks the pup should still be will her mom for another month so she could simply be just very overwhelmed. Has she been to the vet yet? I fear that sense her breeder let her go before she should have that the breeder may not have been a good breeder so the pup could be sick.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Ok. She came from South Carolina. The truck broke down on the highway, so I'm not sure what emergency precautions were put into place for all the dogs on the truck. She was suppose to be delivered Thursday night, but didn't get to me until Friday at 9am. When she got here she had dried up pop on her paws. smh I gave her a bath, and she pretty much slept most of the day. The next day she was a ball of energy. She is perfect now. She hasn't had any issues in my home, so I won't take her outside anymore until she gets all of her shots. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I felt the same way. I thought it was way to early for her to leave her mother. smh I just got her. I'm going to make an appointment with my vet on Monday. I thought everything was going to be fine, since I got Coby from her at 12 weeks. I think she sold him to me at that age, because he was the last one to go in the litter. Coby is great, so I decided to purchase one more from her. I hope she is ok though. She's going to be much smaller than Coby full grown, so I hope she doesn't have any major health issues. I heard smaller yorkies have more health issues. Coby's 12 pounds, and she's going to be 6 pounds. |

| Where did these pups come from? Who shipped them? Where are they going? I'm so confused? I would get your pup to a vet ASAP.

| Hunte Corporation ships pups just like this. Often times they= many/some/even one die on the way. Your pup was in a truck for more that 12 hours....and I know what the weather was...I'm sorry but you have been here awhile and have posted a bit and read too. I can not comprehend that you purchased a pup to have shipped (with other pups) in a truck without being sure that the truck was equipped with climate control, a person to tend to them something, anything humane...honestly I'm stunned. The trip from SC to Maryland is an 8 hour trip on the very best day...this pup arrived how many hours late? That truck was a rolling danger to that pup and the others, you have no idea what diseases or not the others were carrying, I'm stunned to read this absolutely stunned. Sorry you get no pass from me, surely you have learned something here at YT??? An 8 week old pup being shipped in a truck with other pups in God knows what conditions because you certainly didn't, per your own words, for more than 12 hours???? Shame on you and the breeder. This pup may be fine, consider yourself blessed, but you had better get off your butt and take the responsibility you haven't taken already and get the pup to a vet. Shaking your head?.....Mine is doing a 360....

| I am very concerned that such a tiny puppy is throwing up more than 5 times. You really need to take her to an ER vet. This is just horribly sad for this little tiny puppy. Who is the breeder responsible for allowing a puppy to be shipped this way. There is no way that I would have allowed my puppy to be put into a truck for shipping and would have driven to pick her up. I really and truly hope that she is going to be alright

| I would suggest you do not take this baby outside...she has not been EFFECTIVELY vaccinated, as she is only 8 weeks old and that is the earliest vaccines should be started. (Shame on any "breeder" that would allow a young baby to be crated and trucked, unvaccinated, to a new owner.) I am concerned about the vomiting...young puppies become dehydrated very quickly....have you had her to the vet for a health check since you got her? I do not let my babies go before they are fully vaccinated, except for rabies shot. I have my owners fly into Houston via Southwest Airlines, pick up the puppy and return to their home with the baby. It is usually a lot cheaper than shipping via airlines, and it is certainly a lot safer and much less stress than your baby has endured for over 12 hours..... in the back of a broke down truck. Please get this baby to a vet for examination....you have no idea what the traveling conditions were....what this young, unvaccinated baby was exposed to....this baby may need rehydrating at the very least. This is where your concern and focus should be....not on how you can carry this tiny baby out for walks. Get the pup vetted, examined, treated if necessary, keep her isolated from your other pup since she is unprotected and has been exposed to God only knows what on that trip in the truck.....you dont want to expose Cody to parvo if, God forbid, that is what this youngster is coming down with.....and leave her at home until she has had all her puppy shots around age 14 weeks. |

| The first of August? You will need a regular vet check before then.
