| How accurate were weight tracking charts for your pup? Just curious...not that his ultimate size is a big deal for me, but he's been tracking fairly steadily to be around five pounds. At seven weeks, he is 24oz on the dot. I really hope he ends up being at least five pounds, wouldn't mind a bit bigger. Guess just wondering if the charts were close for you, or way off? Lol. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | From what I recall, fairly accurate on my later 2 kiddos. I think they were both charting to be about 3.5-4 lbs and they both ended up about 4-4.5 lbs...although Marcel is so freakin' cobby that he looks more like a 3 pounder. He's ALL MAN though, to be clear . Looks like your kiddo may reach somewhere around 5 lbs, which is a great size. Some say the 12 week estimation is more accurate, but who knows.

YT Addict | Mine is nine weeks today and he is tracking to be 4 lbs. He's had a growth spurt which is explainable since he came home from the breeder. He is the tiniest of the litter and I don't think he was getting enough food; so he went from three lbs to four lbs at adult weight. I know the charts are not always accurate there are other factors hat play into their adult eight |

| My boys are full brothers, different litters. Did not follow the charted prediction, or the double the weight at 12 weeks general rule. They both had late growth spurts at 11 months. Both are much larger than their littermates. I think I did something to grow them bigger, or they took after my family. We are all tall. I knew Max would be larger than standard, but Teddy really surprised us. He was barely 6 pounds at 8 months, but grew to the same height and length as Max.

| Way off - my boy is way smaller than the charts said he'd be at 3.6 lbs vs chart prediction of just over 5. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | They say usually double the weight of 12 weeks. . . Some said add a pound. . . Galen did not follow a chart or double weight.

| Yup, same here. Cook was about 3 lbs, 12 oz when I took her in for her vet checkup at 15 weeks, a couple of days after getting her. At 15 months she is now 7 lbs, 12 oz, so more than double her 15 weeks weight, much less her 12 weeks weight. And she's not fat; in fact, pretty lean and mean, and athletic. My breeder Deb told me she expected Cookie to be somewhere between 8 to 9 pounds as an adult, and so far it looks like she was pretty darn close, as Cookie's growth has really tapered off these last 3-4 months or so (she has only put on 1/4 pound since then).
