YorkieTalk Newbie! | Yorkie Adoption Hello! I am new to yorkie talk and the welcoming e-mail told me i should introfuce myself in this discussion! So here goes... Well the reason i joined yorkie talk is because my family and I have been looking for a yorkie pup to adopt for nearly 7 months now. We can't seem to find any breeders! All of the AKC yorkie breeders in our area have not had new pups for this whole period that we have been searching. Of course, I am open to any breeder with good reviews, but I wouldn't know how to find them! This will be our first dog so we don't know much about how to find reputable breeders or even reputable websites-all the websites with yorkies that we liked always seemed to have bad reviews on yelp- so I guess that's why I'm here! I live in Connecticut but we are willing to drive into states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, New york (which we are very close to) and any other state that is fairly near to get our new puppy. Since probably most of the people on this website have yorkies or once had yorkies, I am hoping you can help! Please leave the emails of the breeders that you got your yorkies from! And also please say where they live! Thank you! Oh and also my family has 3 children, a 7 year old, 14 year old, and 16 year old- all girls!- I have heard that Beiwer terriers are more calm... which do you think would be better for our family? Thank you for your help!!! |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! I think user magicgenie is close to you... I'll see if I can find her. Good Luck in your search. You may find a list on the AKC or YTCA website.

| Hi, Good Luck, I am relatively new also and am having trouble finding rescue Yorkies in the Pacific Northwest. It would help if people put their location up. Diand |

| Welcome to YT, I cannot help you on breeders. We have many members I'm sure someone will be along shortly that can offer advise. Good luck in finding a happy, healthy baby.

| Hi, and welcome to this group. I just wanted to ask if you are on Facebook at all, because it seems to me that a number of the active rescues (and breeders) are using that type of social media to advertise their available rescues (and new litters). We have a yorkipoo, a shorkie (shih-tzu/yorkie) and a Biewer. Love them all, would recommend any of them to potential owners - the yorkipoo and shorkie are rescues and the Biewer we got from a local (PA) breeder. Here's one FB page link that is used for Adult yorkies to be rehomed: https://www.facebook.com/groups/245780945575969/ Hopefully someone else who is involved in rescues and is on this group will respond with more info and recommendations for you. Best of luck! |

| If you are looking for pure bred Yorkies, The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America list breeders. I also thing the Biewver (oops, sis I spell that right?) folks have a web site too. Places like Yorkie Haven have adoption pups that have been very well care for, as well. Good luck.
