| new little boy hi there I got a new male yorkie about 6 months ago he 19month old but every chance he gets of going up my stairs he just poops all over I have my back door open all day long esp in summer but he never goes out to do it he seems to prefer to go do it on my carpet I have just bought him a crate witch I put him in at nite I dnt like to do it but I also dnt like to think he pooing all over my houses pls help I just dnt kno wot to do with him he just a cuite little thing but he spoils himself by pooing in my hses iv even had bk door wide open and he has peed all over my kitchen floor just right nxt to my bk door witch is open pls any one give me advice on wot to do |

| Do you know from the previous caretaker if he was potty trained at all? Outdoor or piddle pad? I would start by limiting his freedom to roam in your house. You can keep him tethered to you or use baby gates to keep him in one area. Although your door is open, take him into the yard. Do this when he first wakes up and after he eats, and after anything exciting like play, and at regular intervals. Establish keywords and phrases like "go potty." When you see him do it, praise him! Praise like he just performed the best trick ever. Give him a small reward, like a piece of kibble. Praise, reward, and consistency will help.

| Adding to above: is he afraid to go outside alone? Even if he is not, I think it would be helpful for you go outside with him.

| my new little boy no he isn't afraid to go out side he does go out on his own but he never seems to do ought some days he does wee out doors on a morn I do stand with him to make sure he does do his wees I wont let him in unless he does a wee I also have a anougher yorkie she 4 yr old she does al her stuff out doors its just the little man he go behind my coutch and wee if he gets chance he run up my stairs and do his poos on the top landing he knos when he dne rong bec his head goes dwn when I say who dne that he seems to cower away I do say to them on a morn come on lets let you out have wee wees and I do say good girl or good boy when they do ought he has walks thro day but the lady I got him off I dnt think she could be botherd with him bec he was always up her stairs in the bedroom |
