Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | How do they know? I very rarely stay away from home these days, but was compelled to a few days back, following a bad dose of Salmonella poisoning. I was cared for by nearby friends and eventually arrived back a good deal thinner, two days later. Crystal refused to sleep with with my wife and was very restive the whole time I was gone apparently? She either stayed marooned on my bed with an old sock for company, or lay across the entrance to the flat barking every time the elevator started up or down and barely ate anything. She hasn't left me all day and insists on being as close as possible (as you can see she still looks worried) - how do they know? |

| Wow Doc! First of all hope you are feeling better!! I think they are smarter than we give them credit for and they feel love, and hurt and pain and so on. They feel what we feel. She knows you have been sick and will know if you are still sick. Now take your meds and take that sock and play tug a war with her. Maybe she will feel better and besides socks are cheep. Take care!

| Crystal is adorable, glad you're feeling well enough to be home. Dogs can sense fear, anxiety, stress, illness, happiness in ppl. That's why she's sticking close to you, she sense's you are not your normal self. As you heal, she will heal as well. Hope you're feeling better.

| Oh NO, Martin....where on earth did you get THAT from?? Glad to hear you're feeling better now - yucky stuff, eh? Crystal's looking beautifully wistful - how the tables have turned!!! Harry's the same if one of us is away, fiddles and mopes around, spending all his time 'waiting' which we find very sad....but then I guess their little pack isn't complete Happy to hear you're all back together again - hugs from Sunny Surrey

My friends are both Doctors and American, apparently they reckon it was 'in the pipes' at a local pub as quite a few chaps on their nearby USAF base got a dose too. I'm feeling fine now thanks, love to you all...

I think because I'm 'Mr Dependable' and always here for her, she actually has a far deeper affinity with me than either Irina or I imagined. I suppose as 'pack leader' I'm considered strong enough to look after myself and small absences to 'hunt for food' are accepted, even if the 'homecoming' welcomes are spectacular. However two nights away and alarm bells ring in her little head it seems? She's still glued to me like an appendage and checked up to see I was OK every time I stirred in the night. She stayed for ten minutes or so before eventually returning to Mom's room - her normal routine.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you, she's almost back to normal, keeps grabbing the bottom of my trouser's when I move about and became very noisy when I took a chance and stood on a chair to recover some tablets from a top level cupboard! |

| Glad to see lil Crystal is getting back to her usual routine, she senses you are in good health and trusts if she leaves you for mom, you will still be there when she comes back. These lil yorkies are so amazing. Glad that you are well and don't go getting sick on Crystal again lol.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | When I am gone overnight, which is very rarely hubby says, my big boy Magic will only lay by the front door and not go to his den. He will continue to lay by the front door except for food and walks, but will stay there until I come home. Crystal has obviously bonded very deeply with you!

| I believe Yorkies who are deeply bonded with their caregivers are psychic. Glad you are better and things are returning to normal!

| Your sweet Crystal was worried about you. Adorable photo! I am very happy to hear you are feeling better. It is amazing how in tune our pets are with us and how smart they are. My doggies are equally bonded with me and my father. When dad was in the hospital for a week, Max and Teddy were very accommodating and did not beg for their regular activities, like trips to the park. When dad did return, the doggies did not jump and give kisses. They simply pressed their cheeks against his legs to welcome him home.
