| Is it too soon to start looking for a new baby? I lost my sweet Oliver just a few weeks ago and I'm feeling guilty about looking at rescue sites for Yorkies. I'm still so sad... I cry at the drop of a hat. I could never replace him ... Never been in this position before.

| I believe the right time is whenever you feel ready to welcome a new pet. No reason to feel guilty. You are not replacing Oliver. He has a permanent place in your heart.

| There is no "too soon". It's time to get a pup when your heart tells you to. You will know you are ready when you find a pup you know you can love. if you aren't ready, you won't find one that you want to bring home.

| Thank you. I found a place called NC Yorkie Rescue to find out more about them.. Looks like a great place that rescues little ones from puppy mills, backyard breeders, and those that for some reason surrender the dog. We will see.

| I agree, there's no such thing as too soon. I've always gotten another pet soon after one passes. It helps me better, and you never forget or replace your other baby |

| I think when the right one comes along, you will know it. No need to rush. Your baby will find you

| It is never too soon to open your heart up to love and joy again. Oliver would want that for you. He would want you to smile with the love that a new pup can bring.

I'm sorry for your loss of Oliver and hopeful that a Yorkie who hasn't known the love that Oliver knew will find his/her way home to you.

| When I lost my Presley I just KNEW I would wait at least a year. Yeah...6 days later we found Ripley... We were so heartbroken over our loss and needed another baby to love and she helped us not be so sad even though we remember Presley every day. Your heart will tell you when its time to let another one in....

| I had to put my last lil girl down this past Oct. I had no intention of ever getting another dog, after loosing 7 babies, I just couldn't take the pain anymore. I cried everyday for 6 weeks, was sick & lonely, I have had babies in my life for 35+ years, how was I going to live out the rest of my life without one. Long story short, 6 weeks after having to put my 16 y/o down my vet called me, that had just gotten in a surrendered male 2 1/2 yorkie, another long story short. He came home with me Nov. 12 the day I went to see him, 6 weeks after putting my baby down. I agree, there's no such thing as too soon. This baby rescued me, he put love back in my heart and has made my house a HOME again. One pup can ever "replace" a baby that has passed, they all have their own personalities. As much as I adored my lil girl, there was no guilt in my heart for adopting this lil boy so soon. He needed me but I needed him more. If you are thinking about getting another baby, you are ready. Don't deny your self. A new baby will help you mend, I know because this lil boy has helped me. When i had to send my lil girl to Rainbow Bridge I made a memorial for her. I still have it and that memorial will stay for ever. Not a day goes by that I do not see her playing in the yard, and I still cry for her. But my new lil adopted boy will jump on my lap and give me his lil yorkie kisses. I am blessed to have him come into my life. If you think it, you are ready, go for it. Make some lil furbutt happy, you have much love in your heart, and there is a lil baby out there just waiting for you. Good luck in finding your next love.

I have had more than 20 dogs of all kinds, my last four were Yorkies, all I can say is that each pup is different, so different, none replace the ones you've lost, but each one is worth every minute.....the love is uncomparable....trust me, if your looking its time, the right time....good luck and keep us posted!

| When we lost Bella it was overwhelming. I told my husband no more, I cannot go through this pain again. Three weeks later we adopted our Guinness from a rescue. I could not stand the emptiness and void in our home...my husband thought it was too soon. I cannot tell you how much we adore and LOVE this little blessing. He has helped to heal our hearts! I miss Bella every single day without a doubt. However, I cannot imagine not having Guinness in our family. Do not feel guilty...channel your love to a new baby who needs it!

| I hope you can find a baby to help to heal your heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. Katie is my fifth Yorkie, and she has completely stolen my heart. Each day I think I could not love her more, but then my heart widens even more. She is very different than my other little angels, but she reminds me of them, especially my littlest angel. We waited two years before Katie joined our home after our almost seventeen year old Ashley went to the Rainbow Bridge. We were so lonely and unhappy, and we missed each one of our girls so desperately. I don't recommend waiting. If your heart is ready, I think you should open it up to freely love another baby. I don't think you could help it.
