| Harnesses I just got my first yorkie. I have a miniature schnauzer as well. I have always had medium to large dogs. So this is a bit of a learning curve. Lucy is 10 weeks old and weighs 2lbs. I am trying to find a harness that fits. I have purchased 2 and she can pretty much walk out of both of them. Any suggestions for one that I can get that fit her better right now? |

| You probably don't want to spend too much as she is growing. I would take a look at cat harnesses, or even ferret harnesses.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Often people with tiny Yorkie pups start with cat or ferret harness. You can find them at most pet stores.

| Mine didn't fit into an xs harness when she was 4 months old so I had to resew it to make it smaller. I was scared of trying cat harnesses because most cat harnesses are still pretty big and also they are made differently than dog harnesses - I have a rascal, she needs something very safe, lol. This is the one I have, Coastal Pet Li'l Pals Adjustable Nylon Harness in Pink at PETCO I was waiting for my girl to grow to her grown-up size before I get an expensive one - I loveeeeee the Buddy Belts that Maximo has on Designer Dog Clothes, Dog Accessories | W. Field's Dog Boutique . I NEEDD one, lol.. but my Chloe is still crazy about biting her harness and making it super dirty so I'm scared she'll do that to her nice, shiny buddy belt as soon as I get it, We have some "no-biting" training to do first, so for now she'll stick with this cheapie harness until she's ready to model a nice buddy belt

| When she gets a little bigger you might want to check with YT member ChattiesMom - she makes silk hafar ness that fit and the silk is very durable, washable and gentle on the dog coat.

| We bought a buddy belt for our little guy. He was 2.5 lbs when we first got one and he fit into a size 2. They are great! So glad I saw them recommended here on YT. Good Luck :-) |

YT 500 Club Member | I found and extra small one at pet smart that went over the head and around the body so it was hard to come out of it. Thing is they grow soooo fast that after a month or less she couldn't even wear it...lol |

YT 1000 Club Member | We used a cat harness until Rasta was about 7 months then we bought a buddy belt size 1. He's a little over 1 now and gained a few ounces so we'll be upgrading his harness probably with another BB and recycle his old one for his little sis when I get her. |

| Look at the Le petit line of collars and harnesses. I found mine at Petco recently - they r made for very small dogs. Very easy to put on and confortable for dog. |
