| Early Riser Hi... Just wondering if anyone's yorkie gets up super early in the morning? My little Gussie wakes up every morning at 530, like clockwork. Any tips on how to get him to sleep later? I try to just let him go potty and put him back in his crate but he barks and wont have it. He is up for the day! I would appreciate any tips..

YT 500 Club Member | My little gets up early too. I let them out to pee/poop. And bring them back in and let them roam around for another two hrs. I want put food out yet. They just play themselves till they get sleepy again or till I get up. So in other words, I just ignore mine since they're safe in the house. |

| How old is Gussie? Max did this as a puppy. More exercise in the evening helped make him sleep later.

| Early riser Same here, my boy wakes up around 5 am. He wants two things, food and then potty…in that order! Then when he has us up and his needs are met he goes back to sleep and we are awake. LOL. I wish I knew how to make him sleep longer! |

| Jackson was let out at 1am on Sat. night. He did not go out to potty until 2PM the next day. lol. He's NOT an early riser lol. As active as he is, man he loves to sleep in. I got him as a pup when I was 18, so I really loved sleeping in, as I was on winter break. He would wake up early like any puppy would, around 6am, and then we would usually have a little 5 min play session and then I'd have him go back to bed. I would just put him in the bed with me and tell him 'lay down'. He learned real quick! lol

| early riser Lucky you, you started him young with good habits! I adopted my boy after he was 1 year old and already had learned the early schedule. Oh how I would love to sleep in sometime!!! |

| Does he go to sleep early? Mine doesn't wake up as early but when she is up.. she decides to jump up and down at the bottom of the bed to try and jump on it.. so all you can hear is this "swoosh" sound of her jumping up and down, lol.

| sleep He goes to sleep immediately after his night time snack at 8 pm. His choice! Sleeps right through to 5 -5.30 am. So that is a long sleep! But even with TV on etc he still checks out at 8 pm. (Unless he hears a dog on TV then he wakes up to complain) |

| Gussie is 4 1/2 months old. He does go to bed between 830 and 900. He will sleep through the night. But 500 in the morning is just too early for me. I am wondering if I should just let him out to pee and then put him back in his crate until I am ready to get up? Thoughts? I am going to start walking him at night. I usually get him excercise in the day, around mid morning.

| Ha! I wish I had tips to help you but Yazmin's up and ready to eat at 3:00 AM! Unfortunately, this is the hour I'm up and no matter how quite I am, she's raring to go! She will take a nap around 9:00 though. Lol |

| Cali has an internal alarm that goes off at 8:00 am - but if I close the curtains real tight and she doesn't see the sun I can sometimes get to sleep until 8:30 or 9:00 on weekends. I have stairs up the side of the bed and potty pads in the bathroom so she gets up and goes when she needs to and gets back in bed. Very convenient!
