| Yorkie and Chihuahua's Does anyone have a chihuahua and a yorkie? I was just wondering how they get along. My yorkie is 15 months old and I have been offered a free chihuahua from my friends sister. It is not ready to leave the mom yet because they were born at the end of Dec and she keeps the babies for 12 weeks. I was reading up on chihuahua's and it said that they can be a jealous dog and clingy to one owner and they tend not to like other breeds. However it said that could be different if they were raised with another dog from a puppy and well socialized. (which it would be) What do you think?

| Free chihuahua? I'm so jealous! I don't have any personal experience to share, but I know several members here who own them both! I'm sure they will be able to help you

| Yoshi met a 2 pound full grown chihuahua a few months ago and that was the first dog that he had never sorta been afraid of. They played in a field for like half an hour. They got along wonderfully.

| I have both... along with my girly girl Tilly.. sami (yorki) ted the shred (chi) both are the same age 1 yr two weeks apart! both males and I recently adopted him from my daughters friend, they are like brother's although they fight like brothers sometimes they can sound viscous when they fight but there is a male alpha thing happening here, because ted was brought in only three months ago, but since your chi is only a baby, Josie will mother him, tilly did reluctantly but now she loves sami sometimes both breeds get along, my daughter is always teasing ted when she loves on him ( he use to escape from the back yard) fence has been fixed since then she says no more trying to cross the border.. |

| I have both. A chihuahua giant boy. He is a long hair, buff color with human eyes! He is 2 and is fine with the yorkies. He is a big boy 13 lbs but they play and play. It frightens me a little because he is so much larger than Mari who is not quite 3 lbs and 9 mos old. Chihuahua's are very territorial and possessive. I thought it was cute a couple weeks ago a couple were visiting and the gal picked up Mari and Boom! Right away Rico was there protecting her. He wasn't being mean or anything he just didn't know what to think of someone having 'his girl'. As soon as she put Mari down, Rico stayed next to Mari's side the rest of the evening. I wouldn't worry. |

| I have a chi and a yorkie and I love the combo!! I wish I could have another of each. Yorkies are very energetic, loving and they think they are big dogs while chihuahuas are a bit more timid but just as loving, a little more calm than yorkies but they are also very good watch dogs . They are both amazing breeds and I think you will really enjoy having a chihuahua as a buddy to your yorkie.

| A free chihuahua!!! That is wonderful! I have a yorkie, chi, and a maltese. They all love each other, sleep and cuddle together. I LOVE my little Pixie (chihuahua).... she sleeps in my bed, under my covers and is such a little snuggle bug. Eventually I want another chihuahua... they are amazing! I just posted this video clip, but I'll post it again so you can see how well they play and eat together! http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...entTime=235857

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Eddie's best friend is a long-haired chihuahua, and he's not himself unless she's visiting. She does insist on being the alpha, but it's really not an issue. He loves to run from her, but he stands up for himself when she pushes too hard.
