| Found A Baby I haven't posted in here in a while since I lost Nico. It was just too painful! But yesterday I was on my way to the grocery store and a dog ran out in front of me. She ran the other way and the car in on coming traffic had to slam on his breaks as well. I jumped out of the car to see about the dog and she came running to me and tried to climb in my arms! She was filthy and trembling with no tag. I took her home, bathed her, took her to the vet. She's around 8 months old and very much Yorkie! She is so sweet! My daughter has named her Belle.

| That was awesome of you. You saved her life with her running in traffic like that. Looks like she was meant to be yours with her running to you like she did. Poor sweet lil baby, she has found a caring and loving mommy. Please keep us updated on her adjustments to living with her new family.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Thank God you were able to catch her!!! So many dogs will just run away from you, and there is nothing you can do and you feel so helpless. When I find a stray, I always check the lost ads on CraigsList and elsewhere, then I also post "found" ads. I also put up posters around where I found the dog in case her poor owners are desperately looking for the doggie. Best of luck!

| Poor baby. She must have been so scared. How wonderful your timing was to be there to save her! I wonder if she accidentally got out of her house? Did you try looking for her owners? If no one steps forward to claim her, it was truly meant to be.

I certainly hope the poor baby's family isn't desperately searching for their baby, surely anyone who has ever had a Yorkie can imagine the heartache of "losing" a pup....I'm glad you found her, I'm glad she is safe, but I hope you will take every opportunity to find her momma! Good Luck! Thanks so much for taking care of that sweet baby!

| I'm glad you saved this pup from running around in the street. Please consider that a loose dog may easily be mistaken for an uncared-for dog. When my Teddy was 8 months old, he could have easily been mistaken for being malnourished by some people (very skinny puppy!). If he had gotten out of the house, he would have been skittish around strangers and scared, and his coat would have been a disaster within a short time.

My Lacey looked like she was dying when she was found, she was matted and didn't look anything like the pup I loved, and that was after just a couple days, she was thin because she was ill and was without meds. I really am glad you found her, I just would do everything in your power to get that baby home just like what you would want someone to do for you...your assumption may be right or not....I just know how horrible I felt when we couldn't find our Lacey, its worse than death of a beloved pup, the not knowing....that's all, I hope you continue to do the right things for this pup that you saved.

So please, never assume that bc a dog looks terrible - that the owners aren't desperately looking for her. She could also have some illness they were treating her for, and that could be why she looks bad. Just please have an open mind that her family could be totally devastated. I know if one of mine went missing, I'd be...well, I don't have words for how I'd feel bc I'd be way beyond devastated. I'd sure want whomever found them to try and find me.

| Also, the skittish etc., are normal behaviors, under the circumstances.

| I've been keeping an eye out. I lost Nico for 2 weeks once and he was returned so I know the feeling. All I'm saying is I want to make sure she is taken care of. I'd never deliberately keep someone's baby. Thank you all so much!

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/mis...ir-owners.html The behaviors of a lost dog know as xenophobic temperament might lead you to believe that the dog was neglected and I am very surprised at your vet. Quote:
Recovery Tips: Lost Dog Behavior | Missing Pet Partnership Also, on Facebooks there are many pages for Lost Dogs in each state. If you have a FB please check this out. I'm just amazed how often and how many dogs go missing every day. But thanks to people posting and reposting the lost and found pictures their are so many happy ending. Please do not just assume that you do not need to look for the owners or that they were neglectful in their ownership. I find stories like this very sad.

| You need to do more that just look. You are obligated to post fliers or an ad that you have found this dog. When you pick up an animal you cannot just make judgement on their supposed care or lack there of. Please at least post to the FB groups and make a really effort to find the owners.
