| Help! Oliver is bleeding around his neck. I just found this rash looking spot on the side of Oliver's neck right under his ear, and it is bleeding, like...his skin broke open! The spot is the size of a black bean. He has always have dry skin so he always scratches himself here and there so I never thought anything of it, and recently he wore the cone around his neck because he was neuter about 3 weeks ago so I don't know if the cone has anything to so with this (like cut him!). I found the rash spot yesterday, dry, just rough and brownish color but today it's bleeding. (I only know to check because I smell blood when I kiss him, he doesn't like me checking or manhandling him, and his long hair does not help). My question is, is this a normal thing and some cream or medication would help or a start of something serious. Gonna take him to see the vet soon anyway, just need your opinion. And also in the mean time, is there anything I can do for him or just let the spot dry out or sth? Thanks! Please Click link for picture of his rash. http://rs112.pbsrc.com/albums/n162/A...64.jpg~320x480 Last edited by akaryendy; 05-20-2014 at 02:27 PM. |

| I would take him to the vet, it could be a staff infection.

| Definitely take him to the vet to be on the safe side. He will be able to tell you what you can safely put on it. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | He needs to see a vet bc this could be pyoderma (staph intermedius) and it will spread, or it could be some sort of hot spot.
