| Smelly rump question How often am I supposed to clean my pups eyes and with what? Also how often do I bathe him. I've only had him for a week but his little rump is starting to smell. Do I wipe it? I was thinking of bating weekly because of his love of rolling in the grass. Oh and do I need to use conditioner on his hair? |

| I bathed Max weekly as a pup, and still do, although during the winter I let him go a little longer. We do booty and body washes in between as needed. I have always used a conditioner. You can dilute with water if it seems heavy on your puppy's coat. I use cotton balls wet down with tap water to clean the corner of the eyes. I also use lukewarm tap water when necessary to rinse things out of the eyes. Just make sure it isn't too hot. Max has sensitive eyes and reacted to using sterile saline drops, even the ones without preservatives. Hasn't had a problem with tap water.

| When you did the in-between washes was it like a bird bath? What conditioner do you suggest? I didn't see any at Wal-Mart. |

| During fall, spring and summer Callie gets a bath weekly and in winter more like every two weeks or so. I use a warm wet cloth every night on Callie's eye area, face/beard, and girlie part then I use a sensitive skin baby wipe on her paws and little butt. If they have a lot of hair on there buts which most pups do they can get a little poo stuck on it. I would only use water around the eyes. Mine likes to roll in the grass right after it's been cut and she has allergy's to boot lol.

I assume from your adorable avatar that your puppy is still quite young. Hang in there. It gets easier.

| Harry gets a weekly shower in our shower....and we, too, do inbetween 'botty + face washes'..... Now this might sound a little gross (sorry!! ) but I also keep the hair round Harry's 'botty-hole' short, by trimming it with round-ended baby scissors.....enjoy!!!!

| I have a sink in my laundry room, use that to bath Sophie Kate. I also do a daily clean up with a wash cloth and only bath every 2 weeks, even during the summer. C Everyday cleaning around the eyes is necessary with Sophie Kate, after almost 6 years she still does not like it.

| I put mine in the washer and the dryer. only kidding folks, don't call doggy abuse hot line. I bathe them in the kitchen sink also (bubba loves it-sissy hates it) then use the blow dryer if it is chilly. then Clorox the sink. We do daily clean ups with their wash cloths for face then butts and use cotton pads with warm water for their eyes.
