| Question about where to post something <3 Hello all! I am a new member (actually registered few years ago but never posted until yesterday bc I lost my password & some other issues). I am currently a mom to 8 precious furbabies : Chloe is my 1st Yorkie I bought from a reputable breeder in 2009 as a puppy. She made me fall head over heels in love with the breed! She is 5 lbs of pure love, will post photos soon. She was my only dog until last Aug when I rescued Miss Jazzy, sight unseen off of Facebook....her family moved off & abandoned her & 2 others in a tiny chicken coop & left them to die, animal control was headed out to put them to sleep but thank God that didn't happen- ..... How in the world can people be so Mean & Cruel to abandon a dog is beyond me ?? Anyway I was told she was a Yorkie but in actuality is a Mini Schnauzer with perhaps a tad of Yorkie mixed in....doesn't matter I love her unconditionally & just as much as my Chloe! So then there were 2....until I rescued a heavily pregnant purebred older Yorkie(Trixie) that had been given away by a puppy mill when she had passed the 'desired' age for breeding. Again so very sad! I apologize for my long intro but wanted to give y'all a brief history - anyway here is my question : I would like to post/tell Trixie's story, it has been an amazing journey & probably the most fulfilling, rewarding experience of my life!! Her story touched my heart & I feel her story is one meant to be told & hopefully touch other's lives as well & hopefully encourage people to rescue/adopt!!! I won't tell her story on this post as it is Very Long & I'm not sure Where to post Trixie's story & how I came to rescue her & help deliver her precious 5 puppies!! They will be 9 wks old tomorrow & are the cutest Lil things ever....of course I may be a little prejudiced lol ! Anyway - where/what is the appropriate thread/forum for me to tell Trixie's amazing & incredible story? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! And I hope that y'all will read her tale when I get it posted in appropriate place. It is an amazing story that will hopefully touch your heart.....it is truly a miracle that she or her 5 puppies are even alive today !!! Thanks to all for reading my long winded post!! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | WELCOME to YT, I'm so very glad you found us! Bless your gigantic heart for taking in all these precious, needful fur kiddos. Thank God you've saved them all. It makes me just SICK that someone left those poor babies to just die. WHY? How/why could anyone w/ a smidgeon of heart DO that? I will never know or understand. How utterly cruel to leave them to die a miserable death of starvation . But, thankfully we have a happy ending. As far as where to tell Trixie's story, I would do it here, in the General forum. It's the perfect spot for it, and it will garner the most attention too as this is our busiest forum. Looking forward to hearing your and Trixie's story!

| Hi, I'm a noob myself. Just got my first Yorkie 3 days ago and I have fallen head over heels. I'll never have another breed of dog. My hubby loves German Shepherds. Darla's big brother and protector is a 130 lbs German Shepherd named Buckwheat. We named our dogs after The Little Rascals. Bless you for taking in all the little fur kids who need you so much. It's odd that animal control wanted to euthanize vs take them to a shelter. That's so cruel. Thank goodness you got to her in time. It's disgusting that someone abandoned their dogs to die. Dogs have become so domesticated that the little ones especially rely heavily on us to survive. They're family members. To leave them to die is deplorable. The animal control officers should have hunted down the previous owners and brought them in for animal cruelty and neglect. Do you plan to keep all the puppies or give them to family? If it were me the puppies would be so special to me I wouldn't be able to give them up unless it were immediate family so I could visit always. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Welcome Chloe and your 8 furbutts. In this forum is great to post Trixies story but perhaps you should start a separate thread that tells us her tale. Also just so you know your first few posts get delayed a bit as a moderator reviews them to make sure they are not spam posts. I do hope you find wonderfull homes for the wee ones and are prepared for all that interviewing of prospective homes

| Thanks for all your kind words. I am at my daughter's lacrosse games & don't have enough time to post Trixie's story just now but will hopefully be able to do that tonight....if u are like myself get your Kleenex ready bc it will make u cry - but I am blessed to say it is a sad story that has a happy ending !! I give thanks every day that I was able to save Jazzy in time, she is such a sweetie. If it's OK I will post her story in more detail as well, in 2 separate threads. As for Trixie's puppies - sadly I can't afford to keep all 5 of them; I am keeping 1, possibly 2 of them. Trixie had to have an emergency c section and as y'all probably know that was quite expensive. Then 2 of the puppies got sick & without my amazing vet they would have died. Thankfully that did not happen, it would have devastated me. So the vet bills & cost of they & Trixie's care have went into thousands, instead of hundreds, of dollars. But worth every cent & I would do all over again without hesitation! Unfortunately, as a single mom w 2 expensive teens(aren't they all lol) I did not anticipate just how expensive their care would be, & it has left me deep in debt so I'm hoping to recover Some of the $$ I have spent by adopting out 3-4 of the puppies - I apologize if adopting out is the wrong wording, 'selling' jusy seems so cold. But I can assure everyone that any prospective adopters will be fully screened & questioned extensively, I like to say they will need national security clearance to adopt one of my puppies lol ! I am hopeful that they will go to homes near me as I will not ship any puppies! And that their new parents will agree to allow me to keep in touch & visit <3 I'm off to watch lacrosse but will reply when time allows & hope that anyone reading this thread will check back & read 'Trixie's Story', as well as 'Jazzy's story' that I will post later this evening or tomo. Thanks so much !!! |

| Vet bills have a tendency to leave pet parents pretty speechless, lol. I know too well how that can be so I understand adopting some of them out to other homes. You should also think of doing fundraiser a to help offset the cost. This breed is pretty popular and I bet there are tons of Yorkie owners in your area that will be willing to donate to help. Plus a fundraiser would help to raise awareness of her story as well. |
