| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Healthy Yorkie adult eyes appear very dark brown/black. They may reflect bluish/green or yellow/red. Here is an explanation for why: CCMR - Ask A Scientist!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Are your kiddo's eyes actually blue, like an ice blue? Or do you mean the 'flash'?

| Blue eyes Hi, not sure what you mean by ice blue, but could be flash. His eyes are blue in pictures I have seen. I pick him up on Wednesday. |

YT Addict | Yorkies eyes are brown or dark even from birth. The blue or green flash is from picture taking. My female had green flash which ended up having a silk coat, while my Biewer had a blue flash (he has a thick soft coat). |

| It's the camera flash. Maximo posted an informative link.

| While many people will say a green-blue eye reflection in photos indicates a silk coat, and gold-red eye reflection indicates a cotton coat, there are many other factors that affect photos. The camera flash itself, the lighting in the room, and the color of the room. Here is Teddy, who has a silk coat, with eyes reflecting 2 different colors:
