| Puppy not interested on eating breakfast? We are currently feeding her 1/2 cup of royal canin puppy food for yorkies younger than 10 months , but yesterday my sister felt like feeding her one extra 1/8 around 7PM since she ran a lot with our old golden, and she also said that it was 1 month since the vet saw her so she might need a bit more of food now that she got bigger (She's already past 3 LB despite being slightly past 2 LB a month ago, and btw her last puppy shot is scheduled today). This morning she went to the bathroom at the usual hour, but doesn't want to eat her breakfast (1/4 cup of food that she usually doesn't finish in one sit so we save some for later for an inbetween snack before her lunch at 5 PM). Other than that she's acting pretty normal and in the mood of playing with her toys and running around. I hope she just has a full tummy because she ate more than usual yesterday, rather than being a sympton of something nasty like Parvo. Last edited by JuanRamos; 04-22-2014 at 08:15 AM. |

| She went to poop again and began eating her food now. I feel a bit silly now, but thank god it was just her being full. |

| I am not a vet but I would in no way be alarmed, since Lola is an only dog I free feed her, so the bowl is always down and I just fill it when it is empty, some days she eats right away, other days much is still there at the end of the day and she never seems to eat in the morning. She is 3.5 years and over the winter she did put on a little weight so I now pay attention to how much she gets each day, but it's the same one day it's finished by 5 pm and she is looking for more, then other days she eats hardly anything. So I guess what I am trying to tell you, is often dogs don't eat the same amount each day so I would not be worried, unless of course this goes on for a few days and she eats nothing.

| I think your baby was just full from the previous day. Mine won't ever eat breakfast without a little piece of fruit or a vegetable, lol. It all happened when I got her I fed her dry and wet food so the only way to get her to eat breakfast was to put a little banana on to her dry food so she'd eat because I stopped giving wet food... andddd that's when we created a habit. She eats without anything in her food for the rest of her day, but breakfast she will wait until I add something tasty to the food, lol.

| I would not panic but its not a bad thing to watch how much she eats and drinks as these are good early warning signs for many things. Measuring the food you can see over a few days if they are on schedule, same goes for water. After awhile you will notice without even paying attention, and its not just low intake, drinking a lot and not having a reason for it is an early indicator of many serious problems, kidney for one. |
