| parti color I think I have my husband talked in to another yorkie. I love the look of the partis, but I'm not sure how to go about finding one since anyone actually trying to breed them isn't breeding for standard, and accidental ones seem like they would be a lot more rare, and as such even harder to find. I thought about going for a biewer instead, but last I saw they were still pretty rare here, and the most places I did find seemed shady to me. a lot of places have standard and Golddust biewers which I don't remember seeing when I was looking at them a couple years back before I got Yumi, so I'm guessing it a color fault they're selling as something special kind of like they do with off color yorkies? they look adorable but still it seems off... any thoughts or ideas? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't keep track of parti breeders, but I know of an excellent Biewer breeder who is a member here - she may be able to recommend some Biewer breeders. She is YT member bchgrl: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=1779 Her website: Biewers by the bay Virginia puppies for sale

Biewers are recognized as a separate breed from Yorkshire Terriers because of this. Gold Dust and Chocolate (and other non standard colors) Biewers and Yorkshire Terriers are really designer dogs and not purebred. I would be leery of any breeder who said otherwise, because they are charging a premium price for an off-color dog of questionable parentage. Not to mention the possibility of genetic diseases creeping into breeding stock that has not been bred to a healthy breed standard. It's not impossible to find a perfectly healthy non-breed-standard dog, but if it were me, I wouldn't want to take the chance. So if you don't want a standard color Yorkshire Terrier, it's possible to buy a Biewer from a reputable breeder, but I'd stay away from Gold Dust and other off colors. | Thats what I meant with the ones I was seeing seeming shady. Like people trying to sell parti yorkies at 2 or 3 times the price they sell standard yorkies for and acting like it's a rare special kind of yorkie rather than a fault. I just assumed when I saw the gold dust biewers it was the same kind of thing. |

| I dont like it the breeders of the off colors are charging ridiculous high prices for a color fault. One of the off colors even has health problems with it and the breeders are charging rare prices for it

| I got a beautiful Parti baby here in MI. I know there are a few good breeders of parti's in this area, so there should be some where you are. I paid $1000 for Gunner with limited AKC? I know some breeders say they are rare and charge alot more. I've seen a breeder here in Flint that only charges $800 for her babies and they are very nice. If you take some time and look, you can find a good, healthy parti.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I do not know any reputable parti yorkie breeders but I do know a number of reputable Biewer breeders. As you can see I have a Biewer. Puppyfind is good for Biewers but you do have to be careful. There are back yard breeders on there too. If you want you can PM me

| I would be careful with sites like puppyfind most of the breeders you find on there are not good it's rare you will find a good breeder on those sites most are brokers, puppy mills and back yard breeders.

| No offence I got one of my dogs off a breeder on puppyfind she is one of the best breeders. I meet at her home saw where the puppy's were being cared for at she only has 1 litter a year and the parents were genetic tested which she showed me and the pup came with health certificate and genetic guarantee. I must say she is the nicest person I've meet and was always there for me with any questions. You can tell if it's a puppymill or broker just by going to the facility or there home. or if she is a backyard breeder by viewing the parents the home and the puppy's. You are not obligated to buy a puppy if you feel they are backyard breeders or puppymills. I do know a couple of people that post on puppyfind and are vary good reputable breeders. The site does have good breeders.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Puppy find.com does have a mix of reputable breeders and back yard breeders. I know for a fact that some of the best Biewer breeders use it. And I also know there are a few back yard breeders there also. For me because the Biewer breeders are not a large community. I pretty much know a lot of them or know by reputation.
