| New here :) Hello everyone, I'm obviously new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rachel. I'm 22 years old, married, have two small kids and live in Maryland. We recently moved into a new house and we wanted to add another member to the family. I do not want to have anymore kids so we decided to get a puppy. I have always liked yorkie's so I looked into them. I found them all adorable but the chocolate's were my favorite! I LOVE the color. I found a breeder not far from me who happened to have a litter of two brother puppies. I picked one out and he will be coming home to me April 19th! We are soooo excited! I have been looking online for all sorta of stuff to buy him! I'm planning on spoiling him so much, I cant wait to bring him home! I figured a forum would be a great place for me since I'm going a little crazy about my new baby. I want to be able to learn and talk about yorkie's and show my new baby boy off with others who are yorkie lovers as well. I'm pretty sure I found the right place If anyone has anything they'd like to tell me about yorkie's that they think I should know, please tell and if anyone has any unique boy names to suggest, I'd appreciate it. I'm having some trouble with names. I attached a pic of my baby boy I plan to stick around and make some new friends! |

| Hi Rachel, what part of MD are you in? Maybe we're neighbors? How old are your kids? PLEASE read as many threads as you can regarding kids and Yorkies! Many breeders won't sell to families with young children, so please know what you're doing. Welcome to YT!

My girls are 1 year and 3 years. Yes, I know they are young and yes I have heard horror stories about little kids and little dogs. My girls have been around small dogs/puppies since they were born. All f my family has chihuahuas, bichons, and yorkie mix's. My 3 yr old has learned she has to be very nice and gentle with small dogs since she's been around them so much. She does very well and pets them very softly. I will do my best though to make sure they are supervised and that my kids dont hurt the puppy. | |
