| Hello! Meet my 2-month old Yorkie, Serena... Hello everybody! My name is Sarah...I'm in English teacher living abroad. I bought my little yorkie, Serena, in a petshop in South Korea. She is my first dog ever, so I am freaking out a little. Serena is two months old today! She was born January 30, 2014. (Lunar New Year's Eve) The night she was born, there was a New Supermoon that night. I was a big fan of the Sailor Moon cartoons growing up, so I wanted to give her that name. ANYWAY. She's full of energy and loves to play... Also, very brave! She got three of her shots in one go, and she didn't cry at all! Here is her picture: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps575227f9.jpg I'm VERY new to this puppy thing, and it's hard to get a clear answer from vets... It's hard to find an english speaking vet in my city. SO, I'll probably be coming over here to ask for advice all the time. Nice to meet everyone! Sarah |

YT 3000 Club Member | welcome to yt, she is a doll, find a good vet and start the shot process usually they get one at around 6 weeks and about every 3 weeks, do not give rabies together with regular shot, they are too small for that. Feed good quality food and have her eat several times a day, they can get low blood sugar have nutrical on hand |

| welcome to YT, you have come to the right place to know more about the breed. I agree with Verbena, get the books she is suggesting, books are always right at your finger tips. You selected a awesome breed as your very first dog. They are high energy, courageous, lil clowns, and loving lil babies. Beautiful name for a very beautiful lil girl. Congrats on your first lil fur baby.

| very cute baby, welcome to Yorkie Talk. Perhaps one of your students could go on a vet appointment and help with the translation.

| Sarah is such a cutie. Potty training can be really tough with yorkies; make sure to give tons and tons of praise when she goes in the right place. I got Cookie to pee on command by giving the Go Pee command, which would get her to sniff around to find a place to squat down and pee or drop a deuce. And then huge praise. E.g., parading around my little peepee girl through the house, running around with her right after a poop, stuff like that. Way over the top praise is what you're aiming for, as you want it to feel really good for Sarah to pee/poop in the right place. I don't ever give snacks for potty trips though, as yorkies are smart and will figure that one out quick. Minnie used to do fake pee trips for snacks back when I made that mistake. I'd go out with her and she'd squat down and pretend to pee!
