| Help with Winston and Poop Obsession Winston is still a baby who is about to turn three in May. I adopted Winston from a rescue/placement group at age 1. He came knowing a few things because he was originally being held back by a show breeder. He was pad trained and comes in front and sits down whenever you're around so he has some nice manners. But Winston also came with a problem of poop eating. I figured he would outgrow it and I tried to prevent as best I could by prompt clean up, etc. Recently, I've been proud of Winston as he has stopped eating poop. All of the tried and tested methods set forth by the YT Poop Guru (megansmomma) failed Winston so time was the only hope. Now, however, we have a new problem. Winston is taking poop and placing it on his bedding. This means his cloud 9 beds have become contaminated and I am finding buried treasures under blankets. Last night, this habit took a turn for the worse when I found him on OUR bed with a poop nugget!!!!!!! That's when I knew things were not good. Can anyone help? What is he trying to do with this??? Is he marking territory? Do I need professional help? I've attached a photo of Winston's evil eye that he gives when he is in poop possession. Thank you.

| Poor Winston he's got the look of a shameful poop hoarder. Since I know a little more back story to this I think he is trying to mark his territory over Barney who trying to show dominance over the pack. I don't think you will be able to stop him since this is not a poop eating issue and more a territory issue between the boys.

| This may sound weird, but my friends sister when she was little, picked her poops out the toilet and kept them in a drawer in her bedroom. They were told that she was proud of them and kept them as trophies, don't know if that applies to Winston? He feels they are his to covet!!! |

| The only thing I can think of is to have him go potty outdoors only. It would eliminate the problem of poop in the house at all. But I know you've got the other pups too, so have a feeling this isn't an option. But really, it sounds like if you've tried all other methods, this would be your best bet. Granted, he could still pick up poop while in the yard and bring it inside but I'd assume you'd notice that before he got a chance to bring it in. As far as training goes, you could treat it like a puppy who chews or picks up things etc. You're going to have to keep an eye on him practically 24/7 though in the beginning. Any time you see him about to go pick up poop, re-direct and when he listens to you, click/treat for doing the right thing. Or, as gross as this sounds, keep his poop on a little pad and do a training session near it. I would imagine the 'temptation' to grab it would be there for him, and teaching him to avoid it could be practiced.

| I doubt it, he has been pee pad trained by a show breeder so that's all he knows and wants. He is allowed to go outdoors but runs inside to go on his pad when he needs to use it. Also, he isn't relocating his own poop. He is storing others.
