| Please make sure your pup's tags are readable! If your baby wears tags on a collar or on a harness, please make sure the tags are legible. Kaji and I met the sweetest pup today as we were heading out the door for our walk. The pup ran into my backyard as I opened it to head out. He ran away as I tried to leash him, but I was able to catch him. We saw no people anywhere, and I couldn't make heads or tails of the information on his tags. I couldn't understand what his name was or really make sense of the phone number to reach his mom. On our walk back to my home, we stopped everyone we saw to see if we could find his family. Long story short, we found his mom! It would have been quicker if I could read the info on his tag. Overall, happy ending.

| Good reminder! One time, I made the mistake of getting the tags that laser the text on instead of engraving. After a few walks, they were already partially worn off! We just moved so I really need to get new tags made for my girls. Glad to hear you found the pup's mom!

| I'm not a fan of the laser tags either, they rub off easily. I always check my tags to make sure they're readable.

| I got Callie a fetching tag and it's written pretty big and nice. Her old tag would rub against her rabies tag and was hard to read and the print was so small. Callie's name is large on the front and my cell number is big on the back.

| I've got a lazer tag on each of my boys collars. I guess I should check them to make sure they are still legible. They also have their rabies tags and Prince has his microchip tag. |

| PS~I watched "my cat from Hell" the other day and Jackson Galexy said that lost cats in the shelter have something like less than a 7% chance of getting returned to their owner if they don't have a chip. The stats increase to about 50% if the cat has a chip. I was really amazed by those statistics. I bet the stats are even higher for dogs. How did the dog you found get loose?? My boys are not allowed to go outside, unattended. |

| I didn't ask. I don't think it's my place to pass judgement on what happened or how it happened. I'm just glad I was able to catch him and leash him. It helped get him home.

| I had to quickly upgrade my pups' lightweight tags when I got my second yorkie. Her teething drew her to the engravable metals and rendered them unreadable within minutes. I ordered their new tags from different vendors on Amazon and--aside from an unreasonably long wait for one of them--I'm happy with the enamel tags. One is engraved and one is lasered, but both are holding up well and look great on a classic/retro leather collar. They wear the collars and ID tags all the time and I keep their rabies, license, etc. attached to the hardware of their leashes and harnesses for outings.
