| 3 male yorkies I have a question about male yorkies...I currently have two and they get along great. The younger was jealous when I first got him but he's seemed to outgrow that (he's 6 months now). I am wanting to get another male yorkie (8 wks old) .... am I looking for trouble bringing another male into the house? Please share your advice/experiences |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I truly think they'd adjust to a new kiddo, animals usually adapt to their surroundings. There may be some initial neediness or jealousy, but I'm sure they'd get past that.

| Also, I think the first introduction would have a big impact. I have a boy and a girl. For Magnus, my parents and I were his "pack". But when Zoey came, they formed a new pack. They're not BFF but they do stick together when they feel is needed. Especially if there's another dog involved. Of course, this doesn't mean that I don't think they'd accept another dog if ever decided to bring another home. But I think the first introduction is important and will set the foundation. Have you done any research on how to introduce a new puppy to the pack? I've seen some great videos/articles on this subject and I think it'll help you a lot. |

| 3 male yorkies with un-natured males there is always the issue of dominancy, there can be only ONE PACK LEADER, if left un-neutered they will fight for this place. I had a friend that got 2 brothers from the same liter, they were buddies, pals up to age 8 months, then the fights began,it was just one of them that wanted to take over, be the pack leader, I had told her when she first got them to check with her vet to see what age they could be neutered. She put it off because she did not know if she wanted to use them as studs. As time went by the fights were more serious as the pups were getting older, but there was just the one that was aggressive, the other lil guy was getting beat up pretty bad. It got to the point she had to keep them separated when she went off to work and had them together only in her presence. But the fighting continued. finally at a year old she could take no more of having the more passive pup abused, she had both neutered, and life changed for her and her boys, they became loving pals, buddies again. I tell you this story just for "food for thought" If you are going to have 3 males, you will have issues as to who will be the pack leader. please always check with your vet first. Unless you are planning on using your males for stud purpose I advise neutering all of them. Good luck to you and your fur babies, 2 are clowns, 3 is a circus lol, no more TV lol, watching these babies play will be your TV, I know for me it was. have fun and enjoy them. |

| I find as a general rule, you are more likely to have issues with the girls fighting than the boys. Just be sure to pick out a male that has a more submissive personality. My boys is not neutered and he is fine with boys and girls that visit. |

| Make sure you wait until the pup is 12 weeks old before taking him from his mom.
