| Welcome. They can be challenging, but she'll learn.

| Pups shouldn't leave there mom until 12 weeks and when they do leave early sometimes they can have a hard time with potty training, socialization, and bitting. If she is 3 months old now she was far to young to be potty trained so you just have to keep at it. Are you using pads or outside?

| I have been taking her outside often but I got some pads yesterday and I'm going to try to have on in the house to help. I'm going to try leaving her in the crate or a leash most of the time. |

| Hi jewelfry - I brought my Gizmo home at 8 weeks and he is doing fine. I divided his crate into his bed and a pee pad. He automatically took to the pad and did not pee on his blanket. I stayed home with him for two weeks straight and took him to the pad in his crate every hour or so. I always could tell when he had to poop cuz he would do his circle dance. About 1 1/2 weeks I put a pee pad in the bathroom and he has been going ever since. His crate is now just his bed. I still walked him to the pad for the for a couple of weeks so he would learn. He does have an occasional accidentsbecause we didn't change the pad sooner, but they are always in the bathroom near the pad. He did have two off nights where he peed in his crate, not sure why but he's back on track now. He does have issues with biting and I am working with him. He is at the point where he will play bite and once in a while he'll get carried away and bite me. I tell him No Bite and I push him away and ignore him for a minute or two and that seems helps. Chewing on the rug is more of a challenge, but I keep on him. It's kind of funny cuz when I tell him No Bite when he's bitting he'll walk away and then walk over to rug and run away very quickly. It's like he thinks "oh I want to bite it so bad, but I can't so I better step away!" Good luck with your new baby. Gizmo is my first Yorkie also. |

| I forgot to mention that when I was home, I didn't keep Gizmo in the crate when I was home. He would only go in there to pee, sleep at night and during the day when he wanted to go in. He would go in there to sleep on his own most of the time. I have a little bed that he uses to sleep on during the day. I keep his crate in the living room during the day and he will go in there just to play and once in a while to sleep. |

| Mabel will go in her crate sometimes to sleep, but she also likes to sleep on anything in my son's room that he leaves on the floor. She bites a little too and I've been trying to give her chew toys instead. I also have a little toy squirt gun that I used with my other dogs and cat. We've only squirted her once or twice and now all we have to do is pick it up and she stops. She also likes to chew on the rug. I clap my hands and she knows to stop. Peeing and pooping in the house is the biggest problem right now. I think I'm going to try to keep her on a leash in the house because it's always when she sneaks off that it happens. It's nice to see that many of us have the same issues. I'm happy I found this site. Thanks for your help. |

| I will suggest to have your puppy to stay in a play pen or crate with pee training mat. And, only allow he to come out after he pees. Young puppy cannot hold pee for long. And sometimes, when they gets too excited, they will pee even if they just had water like 30 mins ago. Once your puppy learns how to pee in proper place and gets a bit older, then you can increase the time to stay outside. |
