| New to YorkieTalk Hi Everyone: My name is Roz and I just purchased my first ever Yorkie on January 14, 2014 she was 12 weeks old. I have always had Shih-Tzu(s) and while I was in Chicago, IL during Thanksgiving visiting my sister in law I met a friend of hers who had a little 5-6 pound female Yorkie.... I can't remember the dogs name. I told my husband about my experience and since my birthday was coming up in December he asked me if that was want I wanted for my birthday. I told him I wasn't sure but I wanted to do some research on this particular breed and I would let him know.....I guess the rest is history because I am here on the Yorkie Talk forum - looking for answers for unfamiliar issues with my little Bella....she is so loving and I am enjoying her but she can be a little pistol too....I've never experience a little 3 pound dog having temper-tantrums before...so finding this forum will help me learn to deal with these little behavior issues. |

| Hello and welcome yorkie newbie! I'm still kind of a newbie also just a week or so. But probably not the one to give advice either.Buuut I also have a little boy that is 3pds that has had temper tantrums. He is going on thirteen yrs and has done this every since he figured out it usually works with me he gets his way!! He is adorable because he puts all his efforts into his little act and I love his little self. No harm has ever come from his little act. I will have more to remember. The most he does is bark at me and stare until I am moved to do pick him up or tell that's enough. So as I said I'm probably not a good example of discipline.Good luck in finding the answer you need.

| Welcome. I'm not good on discipline, either. My Bella has me wrapped around her paws.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome! They can be stubborn little ones. I have 3 and have had Yorkies for over 40 years. Most of mine have been pretty easy except for housebreaking. But my Pixie can be a little monster when she wants something. Maybe enrolling her in a puppy class would be helpful.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hello and welcome to YT. "Yorkies For Dummies" is the first one I recommend."Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide" is the second book. These are excellent resource books .Another book "How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days" Is very helpful. They are not as easy to housebreak. Good luck
