| Hello we are new. Hello we are new to the forum. I am a major animal lover, I have had every animal in the book. We moved off of the farm after my car accident and I have settled with 2 miniature wiener dogs, a husky that lives outside and Ms. Jade, who runs the house. She is a silky that my daughter came upon at a pet store. Of course she was a runt and they were going to get rid of her, because of her size, my daughter fell in love, and so the story goes, everything comes home to mom. We love her to death, she has become attached to my husband. After 2 years, she has started to loose her hair, and itch all the time. We have changed her diet, put her on antibodies for 2 weeks, now our vet is suggesting steroids. I have seen what steroids do to dogs, I am not impressed. I do not want to do this unless I have to as a last resort. We have used benedryl off and on. The vet. Says she has infection of the hair follicles. Please, does anyone have any ideas, shampoo suggestions, any ideas at all? Thank for any ideas I can try. |

| Hi Welcome to YT! Sorry, your girl is going through skin troubles. There are RX shampoos & rinses, have they been tried?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and WELCOME ! With any hair loss, you should always check a blood panel, including thyroid testing. You should also see if she has any other symptoms that would point to Cushings disease.
