| Naked?? For those of you who put clothes on your pups mainly for warmth, how long do you keep them in an outfit? Do you dress them like yourselves--putting an outfit on in the morning then pjs at night? Or do you just have them in clothes for a few hours? Also, are birds of prey less likely to attack a Yorkie wearing clothing? I would think clothes on a pup would keep them safer from predators, but I'm not sure. Would certain colors of clothing be more effective at keeping them safe? I would really appreciate your opinions.

| Hmm I keep parrots and I know mine do not like red. They see in the ultraviolet range and something about the red on me usually gets me a bite. Not sure what a raptor would be repelled from except something resembling a large snake? Lol I had a hawk grab for my hair( long) as I was walking alone in my yard so I'm thinking if they are hungry enough it might make them bold. My dogs go out with me on lead as we have bald eagles , hawks and nutria who my vet informs me will easily kill a small dog. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I dress mine when they get up in the morning. Unless it is really cold, I remove the clothes before bed. Sometime Tatiana wears Jammies to bed, but I like them to be able to roll around and rub if they need to. I don't about the colors deterring a bird of prey! I guess I don't let them out without supervision. We have owls and hawks in my area that I see daily. I worry more about the owl as we usually hear it at night after dark!

| I changed Callie into whatever is needed for that day in the morning then at night I use a wet cloth to wash eye area, beard and private part then use baby wipes on butt and feet then put her night gown on. I do no if clothes makes a difference with birds or pray or not honestly but if there small enough to fall victim to a bird you should be outside with thy every time there outside.

| If she's not going anywhere she stays in her fleece shirt or t-shirt. I just take it off each night to brush her hair then put it back on. If she goes out I change her outfit right before we leave and when we get back I leave it on her or change her back into her tshirt or fleece. Then I take it off again later to brush her hair. |

| I appreciate your opinions. Currently Puff doesn't go outside unless she's wearing her harness and a leash, even in our fenced backyard. Do you find that your pups' hair gets more tangled when wearing clothes? What are your favorite clothes for them?

| Callie doesn't have the personality for long hair, I would be picking out leaves and dirt from her hair all the time if she had it so I keep her in a puppy cut so no tangling. Tshirts and fleece sweaters are the most warn here.

| Bird vision - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Multiple birds of prey, different eye configurations. (ie: color isn't going to matter to an owl) Best to play it safe but don't let it stop you from activities. Guch... doesn't seem to like clothes or to be covered by a blanket. He's a naked boy! | Colors & clothing won't prevent a raptor from attacking. If the dog has a hefty, puffy coat on, it could cushion a blow, but not by much. Just don't let her out of your sight for a second. Lexie only dresses for warmth or fashion . The only tangle she gets tend to be in the armpit area. I just keep that area clipped shorter. Brush before dressing & after undressing, & you shouldn't have a problem. Lex has a silky coat, but I understand cotton (soft) coats tangle much more easily.

| Jackson is 98% of the time naked. I only put a coat/sweater on him when it's really cold (like it has been) when we're going to be outside for longer than a 10 second potty break. Or holidays. lol.

| If it is really cold like it has been lately I will put a warm shirt or dress on Gracie in the morning. Our floors get chilly when the temps drop and she is down as close to the floor as anyone can get. I do take it off her in the evening and comb her out. If she seems comfortable she goes to bed naked but if she is trying to lay on top of me or up against me it means she is chilly and I will put some pajamas on her. I have never had a dog that was so bothered by a slight change in temperature. In the summer when I have a fan or AC on she will want to hide under a blanket or sheet because she does not like it blowing on her. I live in a forested area outside of town. We have a lot of wildlife so I don't take chances with or without clothing. We take the same precautions either way. I don't trust those owls at all and who knows what a coyote would do? I think they are color blind anyway. Not sure about the birds. |
