YT Addict | Constant licking I feel like I am always having to ask new questions or get advice but I have decided that owning yorkies is a never ending learning process! With that being said I need some advice once again. Lilly Anne is a constant licker. She licks me, she licks Ellie, and my fiancee, and the walls, and the couch, and the floors, and herself, and everything else she can find. She is seriously always licking. Is this normal? In the two years I have had Ellie she only licks to give kisses and sometimes she will lick my hands but Lilly Anne licks the most of any dog I have ever met. Just wondering if this is something normal or if there may be some sort of problem? By the way who can resist this adorable face?? Even with the licking!!

| She is so stinkin cute!! Yoda is a licker. He licks like it is his job. There's no stopping him. I don't think it's an issue but I'm curious to see some other responses. I always warn guests that this dog will never bite you, but he may try to lick you to death. I had a cat who was an obsessive licker too. I chalk it up to being part of their personalities. Although it does lend itself to nicknames like Licky Licks McGee and Licky Lickerstein. |

| My Jack is a licker as well, though he doesn't give kisses - its actually kind of funny because we have to beg or bribe him with treats for a kiss. Izzy is a licker also. With Jack, I believe he licks as a comfort (I read somewhere that some dogs lick for comfort kind of like a pacifier). I believe Izzy licks because of her maternal instinct - although she is spayed and will never have pups, she licks my husband something crazy - like she is cleaning or grooming him - we often say that since she stayed with her mom until she was 12 weeks old (may have been a few days past 12 weeks) that her momma must have really kept her clean by licking her/grooming her and that is why she licks like she does. I'd be interested to see other responses on this.

| Guinness is my licker... 2 vets have told me it is anxiety licking which makes sense since the last time his daddy went on a business trip leaving him, he stood at the door and licked the paint off the wall.

YT Addict | Oh my goodness! Glad to know that Lilly Anne isn't the only licker. It just seems so weird to me that she licks everything as much as she does. Maybe its just her personality!

| My Calvin is a big licker, especially his feet, belly and the other dogs! So I guess it is normal

| Ziva is our licker, she cleans her feet in the evening as she's settling down, if it goes on to long we turn on the faucet and hold her up- she has learned to put her paws under and we rinse them for her. She licks our leather couch if she has had a stressful day or overtired- again in the evening .Abby will rarely even attempt to lick anything ever! |

| Kimberly has a bad habit as well ! If I'm lying on the couch watching TV, she'll jump up here with me, stand on my chest, and lick my forehead. I guess I shouldn't complain, though. When she was a pup, she would chomp down on everything ! I would go to work with all my fingers bandaged up, so I guess it's better for her to lick LOL |

| Baxter burred now non stop licking My lil Baxter just got into a thistle patch and became covered in thistles/burs. They were tangled badly in his hair down to his skin. It took about an hour to remove them through a combination of hair conditioner, combing and cutting his hair. Then I bathed him. Ever since he has started to lick everything including the furniture, rugs and even the air. This is not usual and worries me that he is having somekind of emotional anxiety reaction. Anyone have advice or knowledge. I know the whole experience was rough on him (and me). |

YT Addict | I wish there was one! It drives me crazy! And of course the crazier it drives me, the more she likes to lick!

| Huey is a pretty persistant licker-not on the level of Guinness, though. He licks my face, forehead, fingers, arms, and the face of anyone else close enough. Sometimes he will obsessively lick one of his furry toys, but that is intermittent. It is very difficult to use the computer at home because he is always licking at my fingers.
