| Haircut from Hell Hi All, So I'm a new mom of my baby yorkie and I decided to bring him to the groomer for his first cut (he's 4 months). The groomer asked what type of haircut I wanted to which I reply that I did not know since I'm new mom.... BIG MISTAKE!!! he told me the "puppy cut" will be best because is the most popular with yorkies.... My baby now looks like a Chihuahua with a big furry head.... How long does it take for the hair to grow?? is there something I should be doing?? HELP!! |

| Awww, congrats on being a new mom. That has happened to all lot of people around here. They should have pictures to show you of the cuts they give the puppies! But dont worry hun it will grow back in no time. Good Luck and welcome to YT!

| Sorry to hear about the bad haircut. My Cody is also 4 months old and I was thinking about taking him for a "puppy cut." I guess it would be a good idea to make sure I have some photos to show the groomer. Their fur does grow really quickly so don't worry!

| No his hair/fur will grow out different, not exactly a adult coat, but the puppy hair is gone... I had the same thing happen to me w/ my Gizmo, but it wasn't that bad just too short.. it will grow back wait about 1 month to see a real difference. My baby looks like a BIG boy..... good luck! |

| Thats why I dont like it when they say puppy cut because the puppycut is different to different groomers.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I think puppy cuts are adorable but don't work with all yorkies. It will take TIME for the hair to grow out. Just be patient. I wish you the best.

| Been there - done that. You are so not alone in this. When I got Raven her first cut the exact thing happened to me. The funny thing was that Raven must have sensed the bad hair thing as well, because for 2 days she pouted. Kim

| Sorry to hear about that. The hair will grow back though. I'm scared to take Twinkie to the groomers so I trim her hair myself.

| Please know that your baby's hair will grow back. I just wanted to let you know that we keep Rowdy in a puppy cut and we think he is really really cute. I've posted a picture to show you that the cut can be cute (although I agree with the poster who said that is works better on some Yorkies than others). The puppy cut fits our lifestyle because we are out in the woods and brambles just too much for Rowdy to have long hair. Anyway, I know you are upset but take a look at little Rowdy - the puppy cut can be cute!
