| Terrible 2's i know most if not all of you heard of the''terrible 2,s'' in children but do yorkies go through it too? Shes actually 1 yr 7 mo old. My little Lea was such a perfect angel this whole time but the last week or so shes been extra bratty and not responding to instruction as well as she did prior. Time outs and scolding are not working it seems, my baby boy Toto didn't go through ths at all and is obedient as ever. My wife says i spoiled her rotten because i allow her to sleep with us and when we watch tv or do anything that involved sitting she automatically thinks my lap is her personal lounge. Shes even got to the point of biting my poor Toto when i pet him because she gets soo jealous. Any tips for a daddy that is a bit lost? |

| It is perfectly normal that time outs and scolding are not working with a terrier. They respond much better to positive reinforcement. I have always found that praising the right behavior gets much better results than scolding and punishment for bad behavior. Terriers have an inbred stubborn streak that needs to be worked around. If you try to punish it out of her you are not going to win. What is she doing that is "bratty?" There are a variety of things you can do to help her depending on what behaviors you are trying stop. |
