| New Mamma Here! Hi everyone, my name is Stacey and I have a 10 month old (next week) yorkie named Zoe. She weighs just under 9 lbs and is full of energy and the light of my life. She was diagnosed last week by X-ray with Legg Calves Perthe Disease and is scheduled for FHO surgery on January 24. I'm sure others can relate when I say I was somewhat relieved with the diagnosis given the success rate in treatment. I have read every LCPD thread on YT (probably twice) and am thankful to have read the experiences of others and feel prepared for what we are facing. I am excited for the recovery and to get my little girlie back to loving life the way she used to. |

| I thought only males get Legg Calves Perthe? Only male humans get it, that is why I question that.

| Actually neither is true, both sexes in human and canine can have the disease. |
