YT Addict | Free Yorkie!!! Okay so not really, but I am about at my wits end with Lilly Anne. I love her to death and I would certainly never give her up for anything, but she is peeing on everything every five minutes! And the thing is, she knows to use her puppy pads and does use them every day, but then she also pees everywhere else. When Ellie was a puppy she would get excited when you pick her up or when you first came in and pee a little bit, but Lilly Anne pees everywhere every time you pick her up. If you pick her up to cuddle her she will pee all over you and it is a lot of pee. It has gotten to where we have to take her outside to pick her up so she won't pee in the house! It is exhausting and frustrating, and we are getting ready to move into a new house and I am not excited at all about her peeing all over her newly built house. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! I thought things were getting better and she did start to do better, but now she is doing the same things again.

YT Addict | Yes i got that checked first thing.. and have had her checked twice since then just to make sure! I have been meaning to try the diapers, but I would really like for her to learn that she can't do that without using the diapers, I may have to use them though.

| One of the first things you are going to need to do is get a good enzyme cleaner and do your carpet and floors to remove all traces of the urine. Then I would confine her for a bit until you can figure out what is going on.

| Could she be marking? If its just when she is getting picked up, or your giving her attention, there is a way to fix it, but it will take time. Kaji would do the emotional urination (when excited or scared). I pretty much had to commit to not touching him as soon as I walk in the door. I first open the door, let him come out and ask him to pee. When we were in an apt and used piddle pads, I'd walk over to the pads (no eye contact, talking or touching as all those things set him off) and ask him to pee. Once he finished, then and only then was it time to say hi. I also let him approach me during the day. If he crawled into my lap, then I could pet him with no problems. It's now been 4 years, and he is so much better. I can pick him up whenever and be pee free, and sometimes I forget to let him pee before picking him up when I get home from work and have been accident free. He still has accidents, especially when I get home from work, so we're still working on that. Edited to add: For us it has taken this long, and it has been this slow due to Kaji's anxiety. He's a nervous wreck a lot of the time so we've taken everything VERY SLOWLY. I'm sure the process is much quicker for everyone else.

And just because your other dog doesn't pee in the house doesn't mean the house doesn't smell like her. The house smells like everyone that lives there. All the fosters that come through my home like to cock their leg on my new bed, and Kaji's beds because it smells foreign and they want to mark it. Kaji's never peed on any of it or in this house which is new to us. Hasn't stopped the other dogs from doing it though.

| Are you confining her when you can't watch her? And are you telling her No when you bust her?

YT Addict | Yes her and Ellie stay in the bathroom during the daytime when i am gone, and she has hardly any accidents whenever she is in there. It is not until we are all at home that she starts doing this. I am telling her no and getting onto her and showing her where to potty when she has accidents. She loves to go hide and potty places.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Some Yorkies are hard to train but these dogs are very smart and can be trained. I would seek some help and then use the diapers. You cannot have pee all over the house. I have tile so I can clean it up and my boys are confined to the kitchen and yard when I am out. The yard is fenced and they are safe. You have to be firm and consistent but even then a Yorkie may have a little accident. I hope this ends soon for you. Keep training her on her pads |
