| Pregnant first time Hi everyone, I am new on here and would Like to say hello to everyone. I don't want to here negative feedback and will not allow anyone to treat me as such even if you don't believe in what I do. I bred my 2 year old yorkie 2 and a half weeks ago I have read so much regarding breeding and all breeders begin At some point and there is a first time for all. She just started peeing all over my house witch is not normal for her. She is lovable already so that has not changed And she threw up one time 3 days ago. If anyone can help and tell me when I will notice her belly getting bigger I would appreciate it. We will be doing a x ray. No sonogram as I think it is a waste. She does not need a vet visit just to find out if she pregnant because my vet seems so clueless regarding breeding and I have to look for a better vet. Thank you for taking the time to read and I would appreciate feedback. Maddie and Chloe's Mommy |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! I'm not so knowledgeable on the breeding end, but this early on in a pregnancy I'd suspect a UTI. Vet check anyway. Good Luck!

| I to am not a breeder but I agree with above sounds like a UTI and needs attention now. As far as negative feedback goes I hope you realize this is a forum and you will get lots of varying opinions here and take the good with the bad. Welcome to YT.

| Welcome to YT~You may want to ask the mod to move this to the breeder section as you might get more responses there. Since this is an open board that is free to post on, be prepared to receive varying opinions, ideas and feedback. You'll have people with all sorts of beliefs, backgrounds and experiences answering you...but one thing we all have in common is that we are passionate about Yorkies and we all just want what is best for them. If I were in your shoes, the first thing I would do is find a new vet. I would either find a reproductive specialist or I would find a vet who has a lot of experience in dealing with toy breeds and I would then make an appointment to rule out a UTI or any other problems that may be going on. Being that you are a new to this, your vet is basically going to be your lifeline and you are going to want to develop a good relationship with them...ESPECIALLY if you plan to be a breeder. If I were you...I would find a vet as soon as possible. Just 2 weeks ago, someone came on here thinking their dog might be pregnant as she'd just finished her heat cycle and there was another male dog in the house....but instead her little girl had pyometria and she ended up passing away. |

| Most vets only know limited information about breeding you may want to look for a specialist. I hope you did all available health and genetic testing on her and the male. I also hope you know her and the males lines to know if they have any illnesses in the lines. It also very important that yo female is over 5 pounds or this could be very dangerous for her. You also need to make sure you have a mentor who has done this before.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Peeing all over the house is not normal, take her in and presumably your current vet is competent enough to check for a UTI. Ulrasounds can confirm if a pregnancy exists at about 3 wks old. As a novice breeder it is unlikely that you would be able to truly ascertain by palpation and visually prior to 5 wks old. It is also possible that this could be a flase pregnancy. I do think you should consult if you can with a reproduction specialist, baring that get a vet who themselves are experienced with breeding. And folks will post on here what they feel/believe etc, opinions are well just opinions, and the moderators would ultimately step in, if a response goes contrary to YT posting rules, and quite frankly not the OP's rules....
