| United Airlines "Petsafe" Program I wanted to share in case you haven't seen this story yet. Please read Sedona and Alika's story and if you upgrade to the "petsafe" program buyer beware and watch your babies as best as you can. Furious pet owner claims United Airlines nearly killed her dog* - NY Daily News

| OMG what a terrible story to read. I really hope UA reimburses her for the cost of this. And why on earth would you offer a program like that knowing full well you/your staff can't come through with it? I hope she sues their pants off. What this does personally is reaffirm that I will never, ever ship any dog or puppy again. I did it once for Billi, and know that it was an unnecessarily hard trip for her. I'll always feel guilt for that!

| well I understand if you had a bad experience.....plus reading this story doesn't help one want to take that route with their beloved pets. Sorry that Billi had such a bad experience.

| And this is why I will NEVER ship a pet. There are other ways to get that pet from point A to point B without risking it's life & leaving the animal in the hands of Idiots. UGH ! This makes me sick. |

| Awful! The lack of concern by the employees is mind-boggling, and United Airlines -- really bad business practice. Faboosh, I am sorry you had a bad experience. With all of the stories I have read, and now seeing this, I would never risk transporting a pet in the cargo hold of a plane.

| I feel like I should clarify my experience. I can't say that Billi was obviously mistreated, just that I know the experience of flying in cargo scarred her pretty bad. Sure it was convenient to get her to me that way, but she's SO timid around sounds/noise of any kind- in the long run it's not worth it to me. And after reading articles like this? I'd never take that risk again. I'm SO grateful that she got to me healthy and in otherwise good condition.

I know many people who have had their pups shipped to them. Traveling wasn't really an option for them. Many made it without problem, but I agree, it is so risky. I'm glad Billi is healthy, but sorry she is timid.

| Thanks, Kristin. It's a bummer to see such an otherwise brave & outgoing pup turn shy & scared when she hears a fish tank nearby (true story ) I'm hoping in time and slow exposure will help her get confidence. It's a gamble people take, sometime's without knowing any better. When you look at the cost & convenience, people might think "what are the chances?" Well, sure your dog will probably survive the trip, but risking their overall confidence is something people don't take into account and might think overwise about if they realised that's a possibility (Well, at least I'd hope so)

| What a horrible experience for her pets Those poor babies... I would have gotten off that plane to get my babies. I do not think it is ever safe to ship pets... I have heard way too many horror stories.
