Excited & Waiting! Hi ! I'm new to the forum so I wanted to give a little info. I don't have my Little one just yet.....we will be picking him up January 4th when he is 8 wks old. I'm very excited and nervous about the potty training after hearing how difficult it is with a Yorkie. This will be my first Yorkie to raise . I can't wait to show pictures of him! . There are so many cuties on here its making the wait even harder lol.

I hope all goes well with your puppy. Many times people give little pups too much freedom before they are ready for it. Keeping them watched very closely in a restricted area usually works best. When they do well in one room you can gradually give your dog more freedom but it is a process that takes several months before your pup will be able to handle being very far from the potty. You are getting your pup at a very young age. A pup does not develop the ability to control it's urine or poo output until it is around 16 weeks old. You are going to have to keep your pup right by the potty. He/she will not be able to "hold it" while it waits for you to get it to the appropriate spot so always be on watch.

Just want to say congrats! I know that when your baby comes home it will be the beginning of a wonderful future of fun times. Stay consistent - firm but loving, just like with skin babies. Enjoy!
