| New MOM in Predicament ! But 1st Thank YOU! YT You've saved me! Hello Everyone! 1st of all let me say a BIG THANK YOU everyone in TY i have read many posts since months ago before getting my baby girl. You've saved me in many times also confused me but in the end everybody always in the same feeling loving their baby. Let me introduce My baby Girl Zsa Zsa! She`s 11 weeks! I got her recently, she is from colombia. She is such a smart girl, learned to sit and stay down in a week! Loves to play and run! she is a sweetie, but sometimes when playing starts cheewing on our fingers (im afraid she makes this a habit) POTTY training... i know she is a baby, and the key is to have patience, but I dont know if it is that I just dont understand her. Our rutine, is that She wakes us up around 5.30-6.30am to take her out to the balcony (i live on a 2nd floor apt) to go potty, becasue she doesnt really like to do poo poo in her area (she has her fenced area with her kennel open at all times, food and water, bed pillows and toys and the trainning pad in a corner (where she always does her peepee when restricted to that area) then play time for an hour then again in her fenced area, where she is free but limited access to her area (she keeps it clean all the time). Mid day i come back take her out again to potty she does pee pee and poop, then play for an hour, then we go to work again, and come back at 5.30 pm again go potty and play ! she is granted full access to everywhere during this time that we are home to supervise.. when we see she is smelling we take her out running for her to do on pad and praise & reward her. Lateley she goes alone to the balcony (we leave door open) and she goes outside.... but last night and today morning I got frustrated becasue she was doing so well and she pees ans poos now wherever she wants and she has the door opened and pads in 2 places in the house . what am I doing wrong? should I change the method? I just want to be a good mom and dont want to frustrate her for my frustration... Please Advise! Thank You Image - TinyPic - Alojamiento de imgenes y de vdeo y uso compartido de fotos, gratis |

| Have you cleaned the areas where she marked with the right chemicals? If not, she might be just going back to mark her territory. If you have a pad that has some of her pee on it already, you could put that outside or where ever she's supposed to potty. Same thing with poo. As you mentioned, she's still VERY young so she will have accidents from time to time. I know it can be frustrating but I think it's all part of the process so don't be discouraged. Also... you mentioned balcony. I'm sure you've already taken precautions but just want to double check. You blocked out any openings where she might fall through, right? |

| Yes ! No openings at all, it is actually bricks (balcony) . About pee pads she has the ones where she has done it already... it seems she is lazy to go outside becasue she wants to hang out with us! and be close to us all the time XD dont know.... but thanks Ill keep rewarding her when she does it correclty and will keep calm |

Maybe you can start incorporating a trigger word for her to go potty to let her know she should go. I think few members here use that type of method. Also, as I mentioned before. Make sure you clean the area she peed on very well or she'll keep going back to the spot. Good luck!

| Hi and welcome to YT! Congrats on Zsa Zsa. She is a cutie pie. Just be consistent and patience is a must. She's still very very young. Yorkies, for the most part, take a little longer than average to potty train. Again, have patience.

| Welcome to YT!! Someone else just recently about their pup having the same issue. It was doing great at potty training and now, he's pooing all over the house. Has anything changed, that you can think of?? Is she having accidents while you are home or only when you are gone?? Maybe she has separation anxiety!!?! I don't know how much access your little one has...but maybe you should limit her to a crate with a pee pad in one side and something like a towel for her to lay on for the other side, until she starts using the pee pads again...and then gradually give her more space if she continue to utilize the pads. Most dogs don't want to stand in their filth, so hopefully she will opt to use her pee pad and just sleep on the towel. If not, at least the towel is easy to wash. Some of these little guys can be hard to potty train...not just the yorkie breed, but little dogs in general. I've heard people say their yorkies were good at potty training, but neither of boys were/are easy. In fact, I still have issues every now and then. |

| Wanted to add one more thing... My experience with Zoey (5.5 lbs, 3 years old). She tends pee/poo in areas she KNOWS she's not supposed to when she's mad at us. Like if we're gone for longer then she's used to. If she's slightly mad, she'll pee. If she's REALLY mad, she'll poo. Not saying that this would be your baby. LOL Just wanted to share. |

| I don't want to scare you but even with a brick balcony you need to be really careful. Laddy weighs in at 5lbs now but he has been able to jump over a 3ft tall xpen from before he was a year old. Welcome and good luck with your little one.

I'd be cautious with her being unsupervised on the balcony too! Hope learned quickly to jump out of her xpen.

| Thank you Everyone! ... for the advices She has some attitude :O :P Lol, and I have started to notice.... that I think she does it (pee & poo) when she mad because we are not paying 100% full attention ..we check on her a 98% , but also do other things meanwhile like organizing things, fold clothes, etc. she wants all the attention.. I guess But I will be pacient and constant, she is very smart and we will make it |
