| Need transport help from la to ma please help I am looking for help to transport a rescue Yorkie from Louisiana to Massachusetts or somewhere nearer north. I recently lost my 15 yr old yorkie on Oct 22, and her sister on March 12 of this year. Its been a terrible year loosing both of them. My heart has been empty and I can't stop crying. Yesterday would have been Lindseys 14th birthday which made things even worse when Lacey just died on Oct 22. So with this all happening at once, I've been a mess, my house feels so empty with my broken heart. Today a school friend of mine who lives in LA, just rescued a 1 yr old female yorkie and went out of her way to get her for me, but being a senior myself, I find it hard to drive all that way south and was wondering if there was a way to get this little 5 lb. yorkie female transported closer to my state. If there is anyone that can help, please PM me. Here is her picture, I need to fill my heart with Yorkie Love again. It would be so much appreciated ! I'm attaching a photo of the little girl yorkie that's waiting for me to pick her up to love. Lacey & Lindseys Mom Rest in Peace my little ones. Lacey 12-29-97 ~ 10-22-13 Lindsey 11-4-99 ~ 3-12-13 |

| Congrats on the new addition and good for you for getting a rescue...especially from the south. I hear they have a major pet overpopulation problem down in LA!! The above transport company, is the one that was featured on the show "Last Chance Highway" on Animal Planet!! It was started because there was such a bad overpopulation down south and a need for dogs in the North!! They show the owner, Kyle, on the show, picking up the dogs from one of the various rescues he works with~Rescue Double D Ranch) and dropping off dogs up North. This is definitely something to look into...looks much safer than a lot of other transportation methods. BTW, on the show, they do stop and give the dogs potty breaks and walks, so they aren't just locked in a crate the entire journey without a chance of stretching their legs!! |

| So sorry about the loss of your babies but this little girl is absolutely adorable and I am sure will bring lots of love with that sweet face. I hope the transport works out and she is curled up in your arms soon. Best wishes.

| Thank you for the suggestions and help but this yorkie has been in the care of the one that found her almost a year ago, then the foster mother got her on 11-4-13 and has not been checked by a vet even though she looks/acts healthy we don't know if there are any hidden health issues. So all of those special transport companies require shots be complete and health certificate issued. The foster mom already has 2 small dogs and a cat and her own health issues, therefore looking to get the little yorkie to me so all these things can be done by my vet ASAP. The LLC net only charges $150 to transport but without all the documents/vet check they won't board her. The planes only go 300 air miles, she's 1650 road miles one way so different planes would have to connect that long distance which would be too much to coordinate. We are getting so discouraged, was hoping someone would be driving to New England area from upper Louisiana or even north as far as VA we could connect up so we wouldn't have to make a complete 3300 mi. road trip ourselves being seniors. Hoping for a miracle so we can be united ! Here is a picture of our Angel , only 5 lbs. who will go to the groomers there today so she will be ready for her forever home soon. We hope there is some help out there. Thanks again for your suggestions. Looking into each and every one of them. Lacey R.I.P. 10-22-13

| I am in Georgia and can help through part of Alabama and through Georiga to a neighboring state. My question does the rescue know you are transporting the dog? Not to be pushy but I know from my experience most the time rescue's do not adopt out only to have the dog rehomed. I would hate to see your heart broken again. If you need my help in transporting just PM me.

| If you pay the vet bills can't she get someone to take her to a vet to get the health clearance for the transport companies? I think it would be wise to get her checked out before sending her out on such an adventure anyway. She needs her shots if she hasn't had them so may as well get things rolling. I doubt many people are driving north this time of year, this is the time when folks head south. I wish you luck in sorting this out. |

How about, instead of spinning wheels to get a pup from LA, you just take a look on Petfinder.com and adopt one closer. This pup should never be transported without being seen by a vet and at bare minimum have rabies certificate. Anyone caught transporting across state lines would be putting themselves in a bind. Not sure of each state's guidelines on this, but I know they have them. I think the pup could be at risk of a quarantine.

| sounds to me like you have already "fallen" for this one. I think a vet check is in order before you get her like others said. You want to make sure she is healthy for you. Can your friend take her to the vet and then just have them call you for credit card payment? Once that's done if you can get her flown to Norfolk (1000 from louisianna) miles I can get her to boston. |
