| AKC Pet Healthcare Plans HELP! Hi everyone! New to site and new puppy owner! I've read some threads on pet insurance and I would like to buy some for my new pet but I have YET to see AKC pet insurance talked about by anyone. And, I guess I am confused because as we ALL are registered AKC owners, why wouldnt we choose this provider??? Can somebody tell me why they choose a particular pet insurance over the other? I live in TX. Thanks for your help! -coddy's dad |

| I'm not sure about the quality of AKC's offering. But I have a close friend who is also my dog's vet and she recommended that I use Trupanion or Pets Best. I has already gotten a quote from VPI and the AKC insurance, and both were about 50% lower cost per month than Trupanion. But my vet said she is always hearing of VPI trying to get out of paying claims by labeling everything pre-existing conditions. Good luck selecting one!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have VPI because when I got it I didn't know about the others or they weren't around. If I could do it again I would go with Trupanion. I have heard good things about them. VPI denies a lot of my dogs claims for various reasons. I don't know much about the AKC plan. When i first got insurance it was for Cali my oldest and she wasn't AKC so I wasn't aware they had insurance.
