YT Addict | What to feed my Yorkies? I have fed my Ellie Blue Buffalo since I got her two years ago and thats also what Lilly Anne has been eating since she was old enough, but lately I have been hearing some mixed reviews about Blue Buffalo and I just wanted to get y'alls opinion on what is the best and what you feed your yorkies! I have never had any problems at all with Blue, but I am very picky about what I give my dogs and I want to make sure they are getting what is good for them. All opinions are welcome!

| We recently switched to cornucopia wet food. We will be mixing it with a little of canine caviar. We love cornucopia.

| We are currently feeding Amicus, which is made by Horizon. They have very good foods. We rotate between Amicus and Horizon Legacy, and also some Fromm formulas.

| I feed raw, I do a premixed raw by Bold and also lamb chops, pork ribs, bone in chicken breasts and thighs. I also get a mix of meats heart and organs from my butcher and make my own. As a treat on the weekend they get scrambled egg, unseasoned. |

| Ah, dog food. It's like talking about politics or religion. So many opinions. I guess the bottom line is: check the company, dig deep because a lot of times foods will seem great on the outside but really aren't all that fantastic , check quality control, what testing each company requires/does, where ingredients are sourced from, etc. Of course if a dog doesn't like a food, it will do no good, so palatability is important too. My personal opinion on Blue Buffalo? They're a marketing company. I don't feel comfortable with their food, it's made in 5-6 different plants, they keep pumping out all these 'new' formulas all the time, and I've read/heard of a lot of dogs having GI issues with their foods. With that said, some dogs will do great on them. I used to dogsit a Lab that was fed Pedigree for a long time, they switched to BB and within a month, I noticed less poop, shinier fur, and less smelly breath. I currently use Acana (Duck & Pear). It's just always what he's doing best on. But we've had a small bag of NOW and Dr. Tim's in between. And I just am always happier with how he does on Acana so I always come back to it. Even though if I'm being honest, Champion Pet Foods isn't my "favorite" company, but he just does really well on their Singles line. Bottom line is: there is going to be something wrong with nearly every company. Pick what you feel most comfortable with and what your dog does best on.

| Nobody is ever gonna agree on what dog food is the best and honestly they all have something that makes them not perfect. I would research the company and if you like the company and are happy with it then move on to look at the ingredients and if you are happy with them then look at how your dogs do on it if they do great on it and like it and your happy with the other two things then I say stay on it. Those are the biggest three things important to me and what I look at when picking a food. There is always going to be complaints about things and you will always hear more of the complaints then the good because people love to complain.
