| Reaction to first use of fireplace First, I want to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy 2006!!!!!!!!! Yesterday evening we used our fireplace for the first time this year. This was also a first for Bogey, (11 months) and Gabey, (8 months). Bogey was very cautious and kept his distance on a sofa several feet away. Gabey had his nose almost pressed to the screen and was not disturbed if the wood would crackle or pop. He eventually settled 5 feet away on his bed and enjoyed the whole thing. How do your pups react to fireplace use? |

| FIREPLACE!!! It's freakin' 80 degrees here in Texas!!! I'd have to turn on the airconditioner to light the fireplace! We DID make smores last evening though, outside in the outdoor fireplace at my daughter's home. Rowdy was not interested and not disturbed by it one bit. Also, he seemed to ignore the fireworks popping around the neighborhood which is good because my old Schnauzer has to go hide when the fireworks start.

| I can't keep Edie away from our FP. We had it going all day yesterday and she hardly moved. I keep wondering if the heat might dry her skin, but so far no problems. |

| We have doors on all of ours and blowers for the heat...we have gas and when they are on the boys love love love it....they lay in front and get all toasty...we shoo them away after a bit or turn off cuz I do not want to dry out their skin...but with gas prices we do not turn them on that often anyway....

| We have three in the house and they are all gas operated so we have them on all the time when it is cold, so I guess they are just used to them. They love to get up on the hearth and lay there in the heat. My westie loves the fireplace in the familyroom and she gets made at me when I turn it off at night.HeeHee! |
