| Color change How long approx does the body take to start getting different color roots? Gizmos face has very light roots, his ears and tail also are going light, but I see no change in his roots in the black on his back. He's 4 months old right now. Am I just being impatient lol? Thanks everyone, I really don't care if he keeps his black on the back, I still love him to death and think he's adorable :-) I wonder if its taking longer due to the people I rescued him from, that were starving him has anything to do with it? He had so much hair fall out from malnutrition so I know his hair was affected, it's growing back nicely now even if he does look a little raggedy lol. YT 2000 Club Member | I have a 1 year old that is still all black on her back. My 9 month old is starting to turn slate on just her shoulders. I had a little girl that stayed black on her back all her life and she was 10 1/2 years when she passed. Each yorkie is different when they "break" coat and some never do and stay dark all their life.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Jasper is 9 months old and his back is still black. No break in the roots either. Personally, I hope it stays that way. I love the way his colors are right now.

| I too love the yorkies with the black on the back, as you see such few of them :-) I guess I was just not sure when the back starts to change lol. Apparently I'm a little early HAHAHAHA |

| I had someone on my street ask what breed he was, and I said he's a yorkie, they then responded, he didn't look like it because he didn't have the silver on his back lol. |

| Draco's back is still black. I started noticing the texture of hair changing from the puppu coat, but the color is still very dark. Sometimes it's looks like there are strands of dark gra. I see so many with silver when out, he's 8 months, I was expecting him to turn silver like I see so many of them, but he hasn't yet. Time will tell, though I like his back being dark.

| Lola is 7 months and she has over an inch of dark grey hair on her back. It looks like a shine mark sometimes. I hope she stays pretty dark, her parents have a lot of silver. I've had a few people say similar things too. |

| Gizmos face is getting the light blonde and gold, as well as his legs, around his rear end, and in his ears as well as the rims of his ears. I think because of the malnutrition he had when I rescued him and a lot of his hair falling out on his body, it's just going to take time. Who knows his back may just stay black :-) |
