| New yorkie poo mom Hello, I am a new puppy mommy to Louie who is 10 weeks old today. We have had him for about two weeks now and we are still trying to get to know each other. Does anyone have any special tricks or advice that I should know about. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks |

| welcome to yt and congrats on your new bundle of love Louie. Are you having any issues? The one thing I might say is do you have a harness instead of a collar for him? I would have him wear it to get him used to it so when he's fully vaccinated he will be ready to go on walks. or at least used to his harness.

| well biting i would suggest you get the teething puppy toys they have. and not allowing them to chew on your fingers and such as that may be a habit that doesnt go away once they get older. potty training are you using potty pads inside or having him go outdoors?

| I actually do have some teething toys for him but sometimes he would rather bite on our ankles, toes and fingers and as far as potty training, I am doing both potty pads and taking him out in the yard. He is alone for a few hours while we are at work during the day, so we leave the pads out for him. He does well urinating on the pads, but not pooping really. |

| haha well you have to firmly say no and give him the teething toy in replacement. maybe freeze it. that helped cedric. on and off. one day he'd like it one day not. when keylo gets nervous she may come off the pad and walk while pooping. so i try to praise her for pooping on the pad and not interrupt her while going. i wish i could offer you more on that end.

| Thanks for al the tips. This morning was actually a little better with the biting. he was so excited to see me this morning when I woke up that he automatically started biting at my feet. I firmly said no and ouch and left the room for a few minutes. When I came back he again started biting but I kept saying ouch and he did not bite as much. I know this process will take a while but I know he is still a baby and we just have to be patient. I feel so bad leaving him too when we have to go to work. My kids get home around 2:30pm though and then they take care of him and I call constantly to see how he doing. I love him so much. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks that we have had him. |
