| New to Yorkietalk! Is my pup mixed? Hello everyone, I've been stalking this forum for a bit now. My pups name is Eevee, she's named after a pokemon that looks like a fox! So I got her shaved a couple months ago cause she got too tangle and matted. It's been probably over a month now and her hair hasn't grown much and her ears are huge, is it possible she's mixed with a chihuahua? I didn't get her from a reputable breeder, she was given to me as a birthday gift and at that time I hadn't done much research about breeders. |

| She is adorable!! Welcome to YorkieTalk. I'm glad you decided to post and that you posted pics of your baby. I think she is full yorkie. I think yorkie ears come in all sizes. She will probably grow into them. I can't say from experience though because both of mine have floppy ears. Lol

| Welcome to YT ! She is adorable and I think she's all yorkie. From the pic, it looks like they could have taken the hair a bit closer to the ear & that's why her ears look so big. |

| She's Yorkie and ears come in all sizes. If they shave the fringe on the top of the ear will help. Also, we always leave the face in a puppy cut and a little longer when we cut ours down. Have them cut it like her puppy picture around the face, (when it grows out) and the ears will look smaller too. |

| Your pup is crazy cute; she reminds me a bit of Joel, one of the most handsome yorkies on this site. And yea, she looks full-blooded yorkie.

| Chili's ears are gigantic or maybe his head is just small. Either way I love them! I always joke about him being able to fly like Dumbo. Your puppy is adorable and looks all yorkie to me. |

| That's good to hear, I was just concerned cause I read a thread here and they said that sometimes people breed yorkies with chis to get smaller dogs. And that one of the outcomes were bigger ears. But maybe my baby just has giant ears. Last edited by alanaduong; 09-28-2013 at 10:54 PM. |

| She looks like a fabulous cute Yorkie to me. I had a bad groomer once who shaved Sophie Kate almost down to the skin, she looked so much like a Chihuahua it was comical. Don't worry hair growns and your little girll will have lots of hair Honestly, I kind of like her shaved look.

| Alana, welcome to you and Eevee. She is precious. Looking closely at her ears - I don't think that they are all that big. What is making them look large and in charge is the fringe on the sides of her ears. If those fringes were gone, you'd be surprised at how much it would reduce the size of those precious ears. |

| I agree she's probably all Yorkie though some Yorkies no doubt have a Chi thrown into the line somewhere along it I'm convinced, though not necessarily do ear sizes cause me to think that. Usually it's more the shape of the head/wideset, bulge-y eyes/tiny short Chi muzzle along with the ear size/shape and coat appearance that suggest it to me. Eevee looks all Yorkie to me. But I agree, cutting back the ear-hair margins and allowing the hair to grow out all around the face, head and body along with perhaps a full topknot will give fill-out the rest of her and diminish the focus on ear size that the current trim does. That is one cute little baby though, just as she is! Just look at her! So perky and attentive looking. I'll bet she's quick! She looks so intent and involved - probably never can get anything past her! She'll keep you on your toes and, oh my - Eevee just fits her! She's precious and I would have her in a heartbeat! ♥♥♥

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Welcome to YT!! I am a first time yorkie owner. But from what I've learned and read here, along with the pictures I've seen...I would guess she is full yorkie. She is such a doll baby, too!!! I hope you will stay and share more pictures and stories with us. Welcome, again!!

| I believe she is full yorkie too. My male has large ears, but I grow them out and he wears a top knot, so he looks balanced. Here is a picture of him Also, letting her face hair grow will make her face look larger and balance with the size of her ears. It's amazing what hair can do!
