We don't beleive you!! 13 ounces at 2 years =0 It urks me to see people post things like--oh my friend has a 13 ounce yorkie at 2 years. All of us established yorkie owners--don't beleive you. Your friend is dreaming or her scale stopped working years ago. Novice owners don't need a super tiny dog--they don't know how to handle emergencies when and if they arise. Please keep this in mind when buying a dog. =) AND stop posting crap. Thanks, Shelly--yorked x2

See "Runt of the litter" post....... I just flipped on by that reply....I talk to people all the time who say things like..."my little one only weights 2 1/2 pounds".....I know that dog weighs 2 1/2 pounds like I WEIGH 2 1/2 POUNDS!!! I believe if this lady has an adult dog that weighs 13 ounces we would surely be reading about it somewhere ...at least in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Debbie S, Both Shadow and Raisin were less than 3 lbs., and if memory serves I think Raisin was 2.8! She was a perfect little girl, much loved and healthy. Don't know what your problem is, but jealousy comes to mind!

Debi, I really don’t mean to ruffle your feathers, tho the moment that I wrote that, I did. I do apologize and can’t quite explain why I felt so confrontational just one moment ago and now feel badly about it, other than to say that I have grown to resent all the remarks on this board about small yorkies. Sorry Debi, really.

Apology accepted.... I was beginning to think I sounded "jerky" or something when I replied... The lady I was referring to was a local breeder.......advertises 'teacup' yorkies and I was interested...(my former yorkie was 13 pounds!!!) in a 'smaller....more like normal' yorkie but was hesitant about the use of the term teacup..... Went to visit these pups...and they were small, just like puppies..I asked to see the mom (this is the one breeder stated was 2 1/2 pounds)...the breeder came out holding this poor momma dog by the scruff of the neck....that dog weighed at least 6 pounds!!! I know there are really tiny yorkies out there......but this one wasn't one of them. I also question the real weight of the mentioned "13 ounce yorkie".....but just my opinion....guess it doesn't really matter. No offense taken.......really.....welcome to yorkietalk....greatest bunch of folks!!!!!!!

Debi, Thanks for accepting my apology, it means a lot to me today. Thank you for enclosing the thread, I now recall reading that. It is amazing that some people really think that there words are more powerful than one’s own eyes! I have a similar situation that I will have to deal with, later today in fact. People that behave this way can be difficult to deal with, and if one wants to keep things positive, concessions must be made. Thank also for the warm welcome.

| I have a small yorkie that I am picking up in two weeks. I did not buy a "teacup" just the runt of the litter that is Chachis sister. Just because they start small does not mean they stay small as many have found out. I think the reason why this topic gets so controversial is not jealousy. People and yorkies are often exploited in the "teacup arena". Because most people on this forum have heard the disapointing stories and hardship stories it makes you react. Nothing more, nothing less.
