| Ha! Get out the ear plugs. I remember how cute I thought it was the first time Tucker barked. Now, I can't get him to shut up! He barks like a fiend at every little sound. (and no sound) today he was going nuts because my husband was taking down the outside lights. I opened the blind so he could see it was "Daddy" and then he felt the need to bark at Daddy and tell him what he thought of the lights coming down already.

| Oh no, not the barking!! It's always so exciting the first time the pups find their voices! And that's pretty close to the last time it's exciting, lol! We had a Sheltie that was a barking fool, and did not want that with Wosie, so we got right on her when she began barking. The penny can trick worked very well for her. It only took 1 shake 3 or 4 times to get her to stop. I also combined the words "no barking" with a hand signal, and now I only have to do the signal (which for me is my index finger wagged in time to the words). She began barking when I left any room without her, so obviously I needed to get her to quit that ASAP. When I leave, I give her the hand signal, and when I come back into the room and she has not barked while I am gone, I give her pats and many "Good Girl! No Barking!" praises and she gets all pleased with herself. I just love this pup! She will still bark if startled, and that's OK. I hollar if someone startles me too!
