| Smuder met his uncle today His Uncle is called Zico (pronounced zee-co) and he is a BIG cocker spaniel, it was also Smudgers first real walk as well. He was a little unsure at first, but then he just sat down and let Zico have a good lick and sniff. My family are all avid campers (we go every weekend in the summer) so w would love them to be friends, has anyone got any tips. My dads girlfriend wanted to let Zico off his lead but he is VERY big and i thought it might be a bit too soon. She said "Zico will jump on him but he's only playing". I just thought that as he had only just got used to having another dog around it was a little too soon, in case he scared him. Do you think i'm right ?? has anyone any tips ?? Thankyou

| Absolutely, keep them leashed. I worry about larger dogs since my Angel was "accidentally" killed by my brother's cocker. I would hate to see anything like that happen to anyone else. I am sure every circumstance is different, and there are many folks who have big dogs and little dogs, but I would say take it slow. Keep them both under control and let them get used to each other very slowly, and someone needs to watch them all the time. At any sign of aggression, seperate them immediately. Good luck, and be careful.

| Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I don't feel comfortale letting zico off the lead, but sometimes my dads girlfriend tries to talk me into it. Also i don't like taking Smudger round to my dads as that's zicos territory etc and they try and get me to put Smudger on the floor

| I think you made the right choice Jo. I was so scared for Tino when that cat hit him. The slower - the better! Good Luck |
