| she follows me everywhere! I love my dog, I really do but she follows me everywhere I go. I cant even get to the bathroom. I am kind of private and don't like having a dog basically waiting for me with a towel when I get out of the shower! My kids would love to have her follow them but its always me she follows. She even sleeps in one of my daughters rooms and they get so sad when its me she goes for all the time. (my girls are pre-teens and great with her.) She's only a year and a half so I am sure I'm her mom in her head. Is there anyway to redirect her to the girls? They do feed her as much as possible. We got her for the girls. I want them to experience that total committed love of a dog. (I had one as a kid) |

| I think my mom spoils my two the most with food. Then it's my dad. But when it comes down to it, I'm #1 in their pack. I think it has more to do with activities. I walk, exercise, play, train, etc.. most of the time. How about your girls try to spend more time training him to do tricks? I know you mentioned your girls feeding them but how about walking her? |

| You've got your answer. She's a velcro dog and you are her chosen human. Dogs tend to choose one human that they are attached to more than any other. Get used to it

| I am first in Enzo's eyes, my daughter is a close second...I cannot so much as fart without him right beside me! In fact I had to teach my self how to walk again (without lifting my feet so I wouldn't step on him

| Getting the girls to do trick, training and walking, could make a difference. I'm Calebs one, and love that he follows me, only problem, he worries when I'm in the shower, so sometimes, hubby comes in and hold Caleb, so Caleb can see me and stop worrying (whining). So I end up feeling like two perv's are watching me. ;]

OP I think over the course of time it might change. Georgie was my baby until I got pregnant then he became a Daddy's boy and now that my son is almost 6 Georgie's attention is about equal. Basically whoever is a available to give him belly rubs and take him for a walk is his fav lol

Yes, I'd say you are her chosen human. I don't know why they choose one over another. It was just me and my boys for almost 5 years before we moved in with bf who is now dh, my boys love him, but it's ME they live and breathe for! My 2 yo nephew is a close 2nd, he's kind to them and he always is dropping cheerios or goldfish, which they love! LOL

| Simba follows whoever is doing something interesting (cooking [yummy], showering, talking on the phone...). He follows so close that he would take a nap on the bathroom rug, if you spend a little longer in the bathroom (~~~ stinky~~~).

| I have four daughters so I'm not as loving being the one. Between the word "mom" yelled a million times a day and my velcro dog there are times I wish they would all forget who I am for a little bit.. |

| Most dogs, and Yorkies in particular, tind to bond with their people. Yorkies do seem to be much more attached than many breeds and are so very sensitive emotionally. The best way to redirect her to your daughters is to have them act like the owner or some would say "pack leader." Make sure one of them feeds her all the time and have them comb her daily and give her treats. They can try taking her to bed with them at night and taking her for a walk a couple of times a day will go a long way as far as making a loving relationship. When your little girl learns that your daughters are her family she will want to be with them. My problem with this is that as your daughters get older they are going to be busy with school, activities, and their friends. It is inevitable. That could cause some problems with your little dog. Mine gets depressed whenever one of her two favorite people leave the house. You have chosen a very emotional breed so make decisions carefully about her future.
