| New Yorkie owner We got our new baby girl today... She is 15 weeks old and very tiny. She looks like a stuffed doll I just can't get over how cute and sweet she is. I have never had a yorkie. Had a chihuahua that was 2.5 lbs my angel in the sky now. Today was bitter sweet bringing home a new puppy after the loss of the best friend I have ever had. It's been several months but the pain is still there. We named her crimson tide and call her "Bama" She is 1.4 lbs and almost 4 months old. She looks like a toy. Any advice tips that you can give to me would be great. We have a Great Dane and a shep/lab mix so I would love to hear if others have large breed dogs living with small ones. |

| Bama is adorable!!! Welcome to YT! I would be scared to death to have such a tiny baby...scared she would break! Sounds like you were already used to a tiny chi, tho, so you got it down already . I saw a neighbor walking a chi on my way to work tonight and I swear that thing couldn't have weighed 3 lbs. It was just prancing along, pretty as you please! Anyway, didn't mean to go off on a tangent. Welcome & look forward to seeing more pics of precious little Bama.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Your little one is absolutely darling. Sorry I don't have any advice on having a tiny one, mine were all about 2 lbs when they first came home, and are around 7 lbs. full grown. The size that would scare me is something you are already used to with your Chi.

| How cute! When i first got Ted he weighed i think 3 pounds. I have a german shephard mix and shes around 65 pounds. We slowly introduced them together. At first Ted was terrified of Lizzie (2 yrs old at the time) and would run and she thought he was playing and would try to chase him. One thing we did was hold Ted so he was equal height to her and she walked up and sniffed. He eventually got curious of her and now Ted is "her baby" along with Chance and our 3 kids. They even sleep together. I dunno how your other dogs will be, but with Lizzie since Ted is so small she tries to watch out for him and if Chance plays to rough she also plays Momma and makes them stop. |

| Welcome to YT. Our Kyra was that size at 15 weeks. Aren't they precious. Be sure you get her some stairs and make her use them. These tiny ones can break a bone so easily jumping. Also you might want to try a breakaway cat collar with a bell on it so you don't accidently step on her. Our son had a beautiful boxer when we first got Laddy and then Kyra and she was great with them both, very gentle. I would not leave them alone unsupervised though, as the larger dog could hurt her just by playing to rough. She is adorable btw .
